I'm nowhere near an animal rights activist. I just want people to reexamine certain aspects of their lives. Look at things with a fresh pair of eyes.
Well look at this with a fresh pair of eyes: You have no idea of the relationship between me and my pet. My pet is not a part of some forced labor program, and except for fencing him in to keep him from running into the street and dying under a vehicle tire, he pretty much does what he pleases. I grew up with hunting dogs and they lived their lives on a dogchain. My dogs are as free as they can be without being endangered, never again will I chain a dog in the backyard for its entire life.
You are aware that dogs that live in the wild have short, squalid lives of disease and injury, and that being a persons pet sometimes almost doubles their lifespan? Nah, I don't think you are aware of much about pet ownership.
And about your personality? I have always found you to be pretty much a fucking douche bag.
I don't think it is immoral for animals to live and die in their natural habitat, regardless of what domestication does for it's lifespan.
Poor children would have a better life if they were adopted by wealthy people, thus it is a moral prerogative of the wealthy to adopt poor children? I don't think this works...
I didn't say your pet was part of forced labor, unless you count the labor of being your emotional safety blanket at the expense of everything that was "theirs" to begin with.
