Your belief system?
« on: September 02, 2014, 04:20:41 am »
It feels about time for some real threads here.  So, Sanctuary: let's share.

My beliefs most closely resemble Buddhism. I can expand on this later, when I'm not in bed on my phone :P

The easiest way to describe my views would be Gnostic, a subject I can ramble on about at great lengths

My own take on theistic Satanism... I occupy what's sort of an Anti-Shambhala where chaos is more than an empty word.

I believe that christians, muslims, catholics, jews, and mormons all get into heaven as lomg as their good deeds outweigh their sins. You cant tell me a child rapist can get into heaven because Jesus forgives him. All those religions are based on the first few books of the bible at least, can you really tell me if when you die and go to heaven god will turn you away because you call him Allah? Or because you worship him this way instead of that? No. I have had Christians tell me anyone who is not Pentecostal is going to hell. Thats a crock of shit.

Its all the same, whether you call him god, Yahweh, Jehovah, or Allah, the principle is the same.

Humans aren't supposed to tell who is going to Heaven and who isn't. They have no rights to judge others by their actions considering the afterlife. I believe that is taught in all major religions.

I don't have a belief system. I try and consciously avoid belief systems since I think it creates a barrier between yourself and immediate experience and perception. I have a value system, but that is a different thing.

This is an extremely important point! I had never quite articulated it internally like that either but you're so right, value systems > belief systems.

Agnostic mysticism, to be very general. I study different schools of occultism and Eastern spiritual practices. My literary preferences are in Tibetan Buddhism, Hermeticism and Paganism, ufology and new age bullshit.

hehe. fucking new age bullshit. I eat new agers for breakfast! I'm more interested in what the ancients actually believed than in our interpretations of them.

Oh, as a Gnostic I have my own pantheon based on which gods I've had the most contact with. It's a mashup of Egyptian, Norse, and Hindu for the most part. Shiva being my patron deity - who is interesting because he has Indo-Aryan roots that spread back further than most deities and likely has ties to the Norse gods. but he's appeared to me the most often and revealed secret energetic configurations to me.
