Scar thread

post your scars and the stories of how you got them!

was using a 1960's era oxy/acetylene torch.
I was trying to light it, and was only getting acetylene out, so I set the torch off to the side and turned the acetylene off at the regulator to fiddle with the oxy regulator. once I got it open, I picked the torch back up, turned the oxy off at the torch, and hit the striker...much to my surprise, it had been spewing acetylene the whole time it had been set down, which made quite the fireball when I hit the striker.

about a day after. the black is soot that melted into the skin.

once it started peeling

about 3 weeks after the explosion

no pics, but I almost lost my eye last semester. we were using starter fluid to start an early '90s toyota pick up, I was spraying starter fluid into the airbox, which went through a hard plastic pipe from the MAF to the throttle body. the engine backfired, and all the ether that was in this hard plastic pipe, exploded. 6 inches from the side of my face. the safety glasses got launched off my face, and I had to go to the ER. the doctor said it was probably the oil in the starter fluid, superheated, that got in my eye.
Ill give you a hands-free prostate exam with the same instrument I use as a tongue depressor

I did the same thing with a cutting torch in high school.....i lit a pefect neutral flame with a zippo and blew the skin off my right thumb.

cause i was in high school and thought i was invincible i decided to be cool and not go get it checked,  it got infected and i spent 1 week at the hospital. fuck lol

if this were a few months ago i had a good one.  the hood of a commercial truck closed on my hand fucking it up nicely.  would have made for a very interesting anatomy lesson.  what amazed me is the tip of my finger...and nail...grew back after falling off.

it depends on where its located.  if its on a moving part, thin skin, or if its big...dont get your hopes up.  ive found that keeping perforations covered with an ointment of some sort so it doesnt scab over reduces or eliminates scars

i kept a blow-out in a certain location that i preferred to not be scared covered with gauze and some kind of cocoabutter shit for about 4 months and there is no scar.  altho...a similar location where i didnt do anything had a similar blow-out but didnt scar badly either.  so essentially...i dont know

now i dont give a shit...chicks dont care about scars if you have money

Yeah if you're not doing something immediately after the injury and end up letting it heal, you're pretty much scarred for life.  Time makes them fade, but only to a point.

One section of mine.  I'm better now, but it's sometimes embarrassing walking around like this.
