post your scars and the stories of how you got them!
was using a 1960's era oxy/acetylene torch.
I was trying to light it, and was only getting acetylene out, so I set the torch off to the side and turned the acetylene off at the regulator to fiddle with the oxy regulator. once I got it open, I picked the torch back up, turned the oxy off at the torch, and hit the striker...much to my surprise, it had been spewing acetylene the whole time it had been set down, which made quite the fireball when I hit the striker.
about a day after. the black is soot that melted into the skin.
once it started peeling
about 3 weeks after the explosion
no pics, but I almost lost my eye last semester. we were using starter fluid to start an early '90s toyota pick up, I was spraying starter fluid into the airbox, which went through a hard plastic pipe from the MAF to the throttle body. the engine backfired, and all the ether that was in this hard plastic pipe, exploded. 6 inches from the side of my face. the safety glasses got launched off my face, and I had to go to the ER. the doctor said it was probably the oil in the starter fluid, superheated, that got in my eye.
