In refusal to let my thread die I bring it anew.
I had some damn pizza in memory of Zoklet which will be departing us soon. :'(
-
I fucked up and had White Castle. Pretty awful. Post-dinner diarrhea to follow shortly.
-
I ate a whole bunch of shit, just a series of snacking. The actual dinner, though, was tuna helper shit. I added a can of mixed vegetables to it just to liven it up a bit. Then it was a series of snacking for the rest of the night.
-
I made a Thai dish called pad see ew.
-

I love cooking. While its still up you see all the things I have cooked on Zoklet. I cook almost every night. Just felt kind of lazy and the fridge was lacking tonight so take out it was.
-
I had porkchops, mashed potatoes and grilled cheese. All washed down with beer.
-
thanks for bringing it back rodrat!
just had some pita w/ cucumbers, feta, cream cheese, and pepper.
-
Made some simple scrambled eggs and some sort of hashbrowns. I didn't have a grater so I just cut them really thin.
Was pretty damn tasty though. Fried them with some shallots.
-
Rice/bean/cheese burrito with some Tabasco smoked chipotle sauce. Washed down with Pepsi.
-
Tomorrow I think I'm gonna have spicy garlic chicken wings. And a baked potato. A proper baked potato, that is, without that godawful stuff known as 'sour cream'
-
Chicken schnitzel and pasta.
-
pan fried some sea trout last night really good
-
^ that sounds pretty good hydro.
had brown rice w/ korean plants, lettuce, and this korean hot sauce mixture of fermented beans, fermented chilli paste, soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil, vinegar, and chilli powder.
-
yours sonds good too. put them together and bam you got a great dinner
-
I made some chicken spinach curry.

Organic quinoa and eggs.

Pesto marinated chicken and some spinach and some of the best corn I ever ate.
-

just had some bim bim bap. can't wait to make a good ol' classic eggplant parma tomorrow. haven't made it in ages. i dunno why, but lately i've been making a lot of classics and less funkeh mordern stuff (which i'm sure i'll go back to soon.)

Last night I made some Frijoles charros from a recipe I stole from gollum`s mommie or at least thats what they called it I would have called it Mexican chile. What ever you want to call it it was goooood as fuck. It was like an orgasam of flavor in your mouth. I wish i had enough to share with the whole class, but I don`t I do how ever have leftovers for lunch today. its going to be great. Bacon, beef, pinto beens, queso fresco (white mexcian cheese) and lots and lots of other wonderful ingredents and seasonings. A big thank you goes out to gollum`s mommie and her wonderious orgasmic food.

Nigger-rigged curry and 'brown' rice
------------------------------
First, I got a saucepan, and put four and a quarter cups of water in. I lightly salted the water and brought it to a boil. Then I put two cups extra long grain brown rice into the simmering water and covered it. I kept it simmering for thirty five minutes, stirring as little as possible. Then, I checked it every five minutes to make sure the water was absorbed while avoiding overcooking and sticking to the bottom of the pan. It usually finishes at around 42 or 43 minutes with the brand I use.
I put olive oil in a skillet and heated it up on just below medium, cut up two onions, half a green pepper, three cloves of garlic and about an inch or so of grated ginger. I put all that in the skillet and cooked it until the onions showed signs of carmelizing.
Then I added a heaping tablespoon of chili powder, a level tablespoon of ground coriander seeds, a heaping tablespoon of turmeric, a quarter teaspoon of red pepper flakes, and a half cup of heavy cream. I kept the heat on medium for about three minutes, then I added two pounds of diced chicken breast. I cooked this mixture for almost ten minutes uncovered, stirring often. I then added about five diced roma tomatos and some salt and pepper to taste, and covered the skillet. I simmered it for fifteen minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally. Then I removed the lid and raised the heat to low/medium and let it cook five more minutes.
I have a fuck-ton of leftovers for today.

It's a chip dip consisting of Velveeta cheese and no bean chili. I buy the Velveeta cheese with the jalapeno peppers, hence what makes it "fiery". :)

leftover lasagna and a breadstick and some frosted flakes
one time while eating a bowl of frosted flakes as a kid I finished all the cereal and turned up the bowl to drink the milk and I shit you not a huge (like 2 inch long) cockroach was drowned at the bottom. I couldn't eat frosted flakes for years. I don't know where it came from. I have never seen one that big in Oklahoma before and we didn't even have roaches in the house.

Fried pork chops, potatoes fondant, wilted spinach greens and apparently according to my wife the best damn gravy she ever ate. I'm pretty happy about that meal.
-
Made some more of my Chinese noodle stuff. I really don't know what to call it. I kind of came up with it myself. Anyway I think it was the best one yet but my wife said it was so hot that she couldn't eat it. I had to make her a sandwich.
Anyway I can get her spice tolerance up?
-

What makes such a gravy? A splash of white to lift that caramelised rendered rind from the pan?
-
Made some potato rendang the other night. Gonna have some butternut ginger soup tonight.
Also love the gravy thing you posted.
-
Grilled salmon, steamed vegetables, some beer.
Was pretty pleased with it.
-
Chopped grilled chicken placed into a bowl of steamed vegetable (broccoli, carrots, cauliflower), mixed with Alfredo noodles and cheese.
My fiance has been into the gourmet and foodie scene for a while.. She's finally turned me on to it. Well, I was always turned on to it as far as her cooking it, but I've recently found a genuine interest in cooking myself. It's actually quite enjoyable to make up your own dishes.. I think Chopped and Cutthroat Kitchen are brainwashing me.

That sounds fucking delicious, man.
And yeah, once I got into cooking I haven't been able to get away from it. Especially cooking for friends and entertaining. I used to be shit at wine pairing but now that I'm starting to understand that more, it's opening up even more opportunities.
-
Lamb leg chops. 12 of them, all to myself. I've spent all week fantasizing about how to cook them, and I just love leg chops delicious marrow eye in, slowly baked over coals with rosemary and kosher salt and celeriac chips with a balsamic reduction.
I went to the cold box with barely contained excitement for a stomach full of perfect lamb, a necklace worth of marrow eyes and some time with a book in my confines. When I pulled the lamb out.. ..rotten.
So with that, peanut butter and cigarettes.
-
Its 4am and I'm eating my motherfucking peanut butter and honey sandwhich. Nom Nom Nom bitches.

-
Pizza
and I'm about to go eat more pizza
-
Marinated some fine baby back ribs overnight in a homemade mesquite rub, with a few added spices just to tweak the flavor.. hickory smoke, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and a pinches of some other spices.. Then cooked them in the slow cooker on high for about 3 or so hours.. Actually my first time cooking ribs as bad as that is to say, but let me tell you.. Damn they were good! Meat pulled right of the bone so clean and delicious.. Definitely going to be a staple to my repertoire.
-
Ricotta gnudi, buerre monte, fresh herbs, citrus.
-
Been in a cooking slump lately. Gotta get back in it. Need some original ideas guys.
Not original, but a solid favourite for this time of year:
Pumpkin soup accompanied by Gruyere crab cakes or muffin-tin cornbread.
The sweet and salty works well with Gruyere and crab, the same way cheese on a slice of pie works I guess. No chilli is needed, but I can't stop you if you're hellbent. If you rather cornbread, use cornmeal and I recommend for a muffin tray of 12, do 4 of each: plain, diced jalapeno and cheddar, and diced fried bacon (bacon bits will work too). Served with chipotle butter and pumpkin soup, maybe onion rings simply high temp oil good batter and salt to season.
If you don't intend to have the mildly warm chilli in the cornbead or crabcakes, then have it in the pumpkin soup by way of garlic and chilli sauce fried in the bottom of the pan with pumpkin after you soften up then drain some butternut pumpkin cubes. Dont forget cream once you've brought the soup temp down.

I do love some crabcakes. Will be looking for some crab next time I'm at the store. I did make some pumpkin ginger beef stew the other day that was pretty fantastic.
Had a new York strip and some ratatouille last night. Its hard to beat a long simmered ratatouille.
-
Made some potato rendang the other night. Gonna have some butternut ginger soup tonight.
Also love the gravy thing you posted.
I love to cook! I try to do it every day, and if I don't then my fiance does. I have to say though I have never had butternut ginger soup. Is it good? Are there many good recipes for it? As far as what I had for dinner last night.... loaded potato soup its delicious!
-
It tasted amazing. I'll look up the recipe and share it in a bit. I changed it a little to suit my tastes.
Found it!
http://bookpage.com/the-book-case/14885-recipe-week-pumpkin-ginger-soup#.VEBtW7stDIU (http://bookpage.com/the-book-case/14885-recipe-week-pumpkin-ginger-soup#.VEBtW7stDIU)
It calls for pumpkin and vegetable stock but I had neither so I used butternut squash and chicken stock. Come out great. I also added some nutmeg and cinnamon to taste as I found it rather bland without it.
-
I didn't assist in cooking tonight since we were having a more basic dish. Basic, but still delicious.. Ended up having some perfectly cooked and well seasoned pork chops, with a side of stuffing. We had a busy day, so sometimes.. you don't go all out. No complaints here though, I'm still stuffed.
-
Up at my parents tonight so helped make stuffed burgers and sauteed mushrooms and onions. Also made pumpkin spice cupcakes with pumpkin icing and Oreo dirt cake! Yum
-
Honey glazed pork roast, spuds and veg! And a pint of milk to wash it down.
-
how did I not see this tread before?.
beef stir-fry with mushrooms and hot peppers, white rice and string beans.
-
I had cod and a bottle of screech
-
Last night I made a badass plate of nachos. I made pad thai for lunch. I'm marinating beef for bulgogi tomorrow.
-

I really enjoy stir fry, I usually do chicken and add Asian noodles to it as well.
-
Baked chicken and fried potatoes.. nothing too fancy tonight but it was sufficient.
-
I have been stir frying everything in my house. I made lemon chicken noodle soup tonight. But as a twist I stirfried the noodles and chicken and added it to a stock of celery carrots and parsnips. Was actually pretty damn good.

Hell yea! I like your style man.. I've almost gotten to the point that if I'm fixing a stir fry, I love having some type of noodle component thrown in there.. I think too much Asian cuisine has rubbed off on me.. I've never done lemon chicken personally, but me and my fiance have done orange (which is quite common, I know).. Btw, one of my favorite components to put with chicken is Dijon mustard.. you can do a Parmesan Dijon chicken bake, casserole, or fry it even.. taste good about anyway you fix it.. can't get enough of it.
-
I just make some good breakfast food with latest fashion. I has turned out to be great, exceeding expectations.
Seven chicken eggs,
Two large handfuls of kale ripped from the bunch like a heart ripped from a chest, then compresed under fist and chopped quickly into short ribbons,
five large sundried tomato halves chopped roughly, into 4ths or 5ths and pressed under the blade of my knife to excess oil out,
one half of a big red one of these (http://www.fruitcorp.com/img/v-redcapsicum.jpg) cut into 1 cubic centimetre blocks
and a cup and a half of diced romano cheese
1/3 cup of hotsauce
1 and 1/2 tablespoons of black peppercorns crushed into dust
and about half a tablespoon of some kind of dried herbs i found a baggie of in my dank cupboard
Mix the shit and distribute evenly in a lubed muffin tray. It doesn't look like there is anywhere near enough egg for it to work, but there is. Cook at 350f/175c until they're no longer wet inside.

Oh man I have only ever had duck once in my life. it was with a mushroom duck liver risotto, with the breast on the side. It was pretty good but I cant remember the details. Maybe that could give you an idea though.

Yea it does actually sound pretty good. Thanks.

Sweet! Glad I could help. Spent all day putting together Ikea furniture and looked up to see it was 10:30pm so I made up some quick buttermilk waffles.
-
Had another simple stir fry tonight (carrots, brocolli, chicken, seasoning, red peppers, melted cheese, and a few croutons for crunch) just because it is relatively quick and the ingredients were readily available.. Getting burned out so I'll probably mix it up tomorrow night.. I could really go for a white russian, but sadly.. I'm all out of vodka. For shame...

This is a little preemptive, but we are "planning" on cooking at work tomorrow night. So here is a run down of the menu: deer backstrap, deer sausage, ribs, chicken/sausage perlo, potato salad, baked mac&cheese, rolls. Now as long as there are no major fuckups or any machine breakages we will be some fat sleepy motherfuckers by quitting time.
-
No fruit salad with vodka in it or magic mushroom hamburger and cheese pizza?
It is work after all. :D
Maybe some mandarin pineapple tropical punch with some MDMA in it.
Al
-
LOL, no, I work with industrial equipment. As much as I would live do that and with as many redundant safety's we have in place. Someone would try something really stupid like try to run like a hamster inside a 10' diameter ring on razor sharp 52" long knife that spins at 8k rpms.
-
Made an attempt at my own jalapeno poppers for a light snack earlier. Have to say I didn't do to shabby. Fresh jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese and bacon. Rolled in panko bread crumbs and fried! YUM
-
I awaoke this afternoon to my wonderful fiance having made me some perfectly seasoned pork chops, alfredo noodles, and loaded baked potato mashes potatoes.. definitely not a bad breakfast.. or errr.. dinner.. Difficult to define when you wake up at 7 in the evening. Been coming out of a sickness and the sleep routine has suffered as a result of sporadic recovery.
-
You need to draw her a serene tub this evening, for some serenity and relaxation, then surprise her and eat the hell out of that pussy.
-

Actually I managed to piss her off for an hour or two.. Not intentionally, just one of those freak arguments over something small. We reconciled though and ended the night good. But oh do I have plans of devouring her tomorrow.. probably would have today, but I need a shower and I respect her enough to present myself only in the highest form. (And because those are somewhat her rules and not mine.. lol)
-
Just put a whole chicken in the slow cooker for tonight. Seasoned with lemon, garlic and a few other spices. Also working on making some homemade rolls and later when its finished making some homemade mashed potatoes with sour cream, chives and maybe some cheese Idk they may just be plain.. I don't want to take away from the chicken....

I made up that spice rub for some venison backstrap I had. It'd be better with a little fresh garlic rather than powdered, but ground ancho chiles are awesome.

So the chicken that I made turned out great! Tonight is left overs so I'm making homemade chicken noodle soup! And to help make it a meal so grilled cheese...pretty simple...but still tasty..
-
I haven't had grilled cheese in a while. I know what I'm making now!
-
I know right...lol glad to know that I inspired you...(even if its just to make grilled cheese :) ) its also really good if you add meat into it while cooking...I usually add pepperonis which adds a lil more flavor but also nothing beats a plain grilled cheese as well..
-
Is that a leopard print tablecloth?
...I think I'm in love <33

Made some tomato soup and I used a large portabella slice on the grilled cheese. Was pretty good but I didn't get the cheese as melted as I would like. So I had nicely toasted bread and half melted cheese. lol But it still tasted good.
-
Wow, my fiance has almost the exact lingerie except the lace at the top is pink instead of black, has the bow, polkadots, lace pattern, and everything.. and she's a redhead too. lol.. I like your style man..
That food does look pretty damn delicious though.
I havent quite made my supper yet tonight.. really getting low on fresh produce so I'll probably make a nice stew/soup so I can have plenty throughout the day.. possibly tomorrow, since I have some work planned and I like to take soup in a thermos on these cold days. Since everyone is talking grilled cheese, might fix me some of that as well.. probably chop up some bits of salami and bacon to put in there just to add a little flavor..
Hopefully, I'll be able to bag a deer here soon.. Gonna turn almost the whole thing into deer jerky.. I have so many marinade ideas, I get a hard-on thinking about it. lol.
-
Seared tuna steak and a Japanese style spinach and some salad. I don't really know what to call the spinach but it has tahini in it. Was pretty damn good.
-
cheese and tomato sandwhich on garlic bread, with poweraid and a cup of coffee
-
Date night with the wife. Had some Outback Steakhouse.
-
Bacon wrapped hotdogs.
Al

Woke up this afternoon to the delightful smell of freshly made tacos.. She must know how to time my sleep, because whether I sleep 4 hours or 8, the food is always coming right off the stove.. Maybe it's the delicious smell of her cooking that's waking me.. They contained beef, rice, black beans, lettuce, tomato, cilantro, shredded colby jack, and had the option of square crunchy taco shells or tortillas to roll a few burritos.. Actually my first time eating the square shells, and I do find they are less messy upon consumption.. I'll probably snack on a few rolled burritos throughout the night.. I love how its such a convenient yet feeling snack food.
-
For tonight I think that I'll make breakfast! Fry some bacon, homemade biscuits, gravy, eggs, and hash browns. Prob add a slice of fresh tomato as well.
-
I had a blue rare steak with pan fried mushrooms and onions, hot peppers and green beans with a side of baked potato.

Wings and rings down at the shack, I am a regular elbows on that silkey oak taring straight ahead at that hotsauce like I now I'm going to move it with telekinesis one day. I'm not a hardass, I'm just not participating in the atmosphere. I only come by five to closing and stay an hour after, when the taps are wide out open the door's locked and the chef and I, Florida man, are mopping up the scraps with out fingers and faces while we lsiten to white zombie at a level that is audibly unsustainable. Those are the nights and ain't it funny how it is.

If true it sounds fun. I didn't sleep at all last night so at 7 this morning I put some stew together in the crockpot. Nothing fancy but it was homey and delicious. Still haven't slept, gonna see how late I can last tonight. I cant stay up for days like I used to being 25 years old now has taken a toll on my body and I'm just not as young and spry as I used to be. lol
Seriously though. 4 years of kickboxing and cliff scaling for fun have fucked up my body. Gotta a bad back, bad shoulder. I think I might have arthritis in my hip from when it got dislocated and one of my knees creaks and aches.

Home made beef and re-fried bean burritos chased with on going rye and gingers.
Al

McDonald's. It was delicious.

Tonight it's going to be chicken quesadillas with salsa verde and salsa macha, black beans & rice. Then beer. I found some Labatt blue royale on sale. Light beer with 6.1% abv, basically the same idea as bud light platinum. It tastes horrible but it's light bodied and easy to drink despite the taste.
-
Leek and potato soup. Was the bomb.
-
Lemon Salmon with couscous and sauteed yellow squash...yummmm, just had leftovers for lunch, I fucking love leftovers.
-
Made some fried rice and shrimp tonight.
They had salmon on sale the other day so I have a whole side I portioned out and individually wrapped in the freezer. I love salmon.
-
instant yakisoba 4 breakfast
ramen for lunch
microwavable ziti for dinner

Last night was a general latin american style arroz con pollo. tonight is a chinese stir fry with rice noodles.

Tonight? Well booze

Toast two pieces of wheat bread in a toaster(obviously). Fry an egg with olive oil, a teaspoon will do, nuke bacon in the microwave, mayo on one slice of bread, hot sauce on the other, add banana peppers, throw the egg and bacon on there, eat, enjoy.

Stuffed chicken wings coated in shake and bake extra crispy with a pinch of garlic salt mixed in. I stuffed them with dark meat this time instead of Italian sausage like last time.

What's with the retro phone? Also I made some pretty good Lebanese style moussaka. Cinnamon makes for such an fine main dish spice.

So its been a while since I posted in this thread. I was going to post ysterday, but I cheaped out and had some take out pizza while snacking around.. Tonight however, my fiance prepared some awesome Angus rib-eye stakes, tenderized to perfection and cooked to perfection as well.. so soft and moist.. Just isnt much like a well cooked/seasoned steak. Had sides of baked potato (real bacon bits, sour cream, cheese) and a nice crisp salad.. Even had a nice bottle of red to wash it down with.. nothing to expensive, but it was fitting nonetheless. I don't always eat nice, but.. it's nice when I do.

Burritos. Jalapeno beans, pepperjack cheese, doused in siracha, with 3 drops (and no more) of ghost pepper sauce for kick.
I eat this 2-3 times a week. Dirt cheap, damn tasty, low(ish) fat.

So I don't know what was up but I completely ruined a pumpkin so I had some pesto that was supposed to go with it and I had no idea what to do with it. Decided to get creative with it and add it to some home made tomato sauce and serve it of some penne pasta with some sliced up Italian sausage. Turned out pretty damn awesome.
The pesto was walnut and arugula instead of pine nuts. Its a pretty tasty alternative.

Have a pecan pie in the oven for tomorrow. Its all I have to do as I am going to some family. I don't really know these people and they live in New York. So I am bringing a piece of the south to them and they better damn well like it.
-
Ham and lentil soup today.
Gonna make turkey pot pie tomorrow. A while back I accidentally discovered that if you use sweetened unsalted butter in the crust recipe, it turns out amazing. Been doing it that way ever since. Also, trying a new version of my recipe for coffee cookies. Cold brew coffee for extra strong flavor, and less baking soda so they aren't so cake-y.

How are coffee cookies? I never was a fan of coffee. Much more a tea person.

I like them, but I am a huge coffee drinker. Most people who don't like coffee don't care for the bitterness, and that doesn't really come through in the cookies.
