One of the main issues I have is most foods don't fill me up, so I go back for more.
Anybody know any good foods that are filling?
Don't mention fruits as I could eat a million apples and still eat a steak.
-
Eggs, avocado. Quality meats of all kinds. If you're okay being high fat you can add like a chunk of good butter to your coffee. That's how I did my intermittent fasting for a while... cup of butter coffee in the morning and I wouldn't really be too hungry until 4pm or so.
And other types of full-fat dairy seem to be satiating as well. Greek yogurt, kefir... these days a liter of kefir can keep me full for 8 hours or so.
-
I ate like 3 feet of quinoa salad and was still starving and felt sick so don't eat that gayass shit, I still refuse to believe there's any protein in it
Duck is fucking fatty, don't eat that or fucking pork/pigs.
Just eat chicken, lamb, fish and cow, everything else is absolutely haram

Fatty meats will likely be the most filling...

I am guessing you are fat

Wholewheat foods like pastas, rice and breads leave you feeling fuller for longer! They also have more protein and fiber than their white counterparts!

Rice isn't a wheat product.
Try things that are eaten all over the world. Rice and beans has a ridiculous number of recipes: cajun, various South/Central/North American versions, etc. Rice and rice-based noodles are filling and cheap. Jasmine rice in bulk is under $1/lb. Cheap long grain white rice is about 50 cents/lb in bulk.
Potatoes. They're cheap and filling. Potatoes and slow cooked meat with cabbage is one combination that works and tastes good. An American classic is chicken and noodles with mashed potatoes. It's a carb fest.
Look at how Asian or Latin American meals are prepared. You're eating a lot of rice or rice and beans, vegetables, and then a small amount of meat.

These foods sometimes make me shit pretty bad

boneless skinless chicken breast. cheap. healthy. eat some veg or something with it. something utilitarian. like uncooked brocoli and carrots. dip that shit in ranch for extra calories.

The chicken yes, but the veg does not fill me up.
I have started to make smoothies to help fill me up

Fat is a major contributor to what makes the body think it's full. Eat health fat that is in fruits. Most fats from animals are unhealthy fat

Funny enough, it makes my shit small bad and it also looks like the size of a baby's arm. But it's regular, so I know when i'm going to have a shit.

I already answered the question

I like to snack on carrots and other veggies such as broccoli, tomatoes, cucumbers etc. with a ranch dip. I also enjoy munching on grapes and cheese. Other than that couscous is another healthy but filling snack.

If you eat fatty foods and you are just 8 stone either you are getting laid a lot or stick your fingers down your throat.
I will let other members decide either way

Fat doesn't make you fat. The healthy kind anyway, that you find in like eggs, dairy and quality meats.
-
Lentils and rice sautéed with onion in some coconut oil is damn good. Season it with a little salt and pepper while it cooks. I can eat that all week.
Virtually anything sprouted (grains, beans, veggies)

For starchy carbs I generally eat potatoes or sweet potatoes. Yeah can cut them into fries. So delicious. I like making dishes with glass noodles, which are made from sweet potato starch.
But if you're trying to lose weight I've found it's best to be either high carb or high fat. Can carb cycle (switch every few days or so) or even mini carb cycle (fatty/carby foods at least 5 hours apart from each other), but never eat them together. And always always go high protein.
-
Potato soup in chicken broth, carrots, broccoli, some diced real bacon, and a little seasoning.. Sooo feeling, and it is literally the shit. I think it's odd that soup has really disappeared as a food staple. I've recently come back around to soup and how awesome it is.. so many varieties, you can put it in a thermos and take it where ever you want.. and its easy on digestion.. usually involve vegetables and foods that are good for you seperate as well as together.

I honestly think you are either really lucky or really young (or both) Now I am on the wrong side of 30 If I walk past a cake shop I put on weight.
Any high carb foods are my Kryptonite now

Lol, he's right :P

I'm 26, and you really don't know how I eat. Suggested meat here because it's healthy and definitely can result in weight loss, but I'm actually vegetarian. If you want serious advice about this, I'm your gal.

Noooo it's not an angle. Actually it's a lot harder to stay healthy if you're vegetarian. I promise you can lose weight if you get serious about your eating habits.
And 29 is old now? I was planning to give up at 30. You just shaved an entire year off of my life :(

I am unsure about the age thing so I started a new thread

When i said 'fruit' i should have said 'plant.' Not only avocados, but nuts as well. Land animals are bad fat sources but cold-water fish, like salmon and tuna, and good sources of fat.

That's a ridiculous way to classify "good" vs. "bad" animal meats. Unless there's some reason you have for that?
I don't recommend nuts very often OP. They seem great on paper, but it's really easy to eat way too many of them lol.

Thats a simple way of explaining it on a site where the majority of readership has an attention span measured in seconds. Im not getting into a physiological explanation of how the human body processes, absorbs, and uses various types of fat nor the myth of cholesterol.
I meant nuts that grow on plants, not the ones that dangle between your boyfriends' legs
-
I know all about how the human body processes, absorbs, and uses various types of fat. And I'm well versed in various opinions concerning cholesterol.
Let's hear it. Why are land animals unhealthy sources of fat?

I bet you know all about how the human body processes, absorbs and uses semen too.

Come on man, I like some of our debate posts, but that was uncalled for.. out of the blue.. and even childish considering the other stupid shit that is posted here on the regular.
Back on point, I have read many articles online indicating the overall health benefits of the "Mediterranean diet", me personally, I could never live on it.. not just yet. I understand that seasalt is superior to regular salt as far as its positive health benefits on the human body.. as well as the perks of consuming fish oil and fish that contain omega-3 fatty acids. My diet is more.. earthy in nature.. I love eating various nuts and beans as a source of protein and fiber (<--greenbeans). I like garden food.. I know what I've put into it. I'm not overly uppity on whether my seeds are GMO's, but I try not to use any pesticide and tend to use natural methods to promote highest potential growth. I intake a lot of water, and feel its probably one of the most important things in a persons diet.. despite your particular philosophy.. I love my meat so I could never be a straight up vegan, but I have found ways to make tofu taste delicious as well.. I could always supplement if I had to.. My Achilles heel, diet wise.. is probably fruit.. there is no fruit that I can stand to eat straight up beyond bananas and the occasional apple. I love fruit, but I almost always consume it in juice form.. throw it in a blender and puree it into a smoothy.. i can work with that, but the mealy texture of some apple, or the burst of sweetness of grapes.. or the mushy texture of watermelon.. idk.. Meat and veggies is my thing.

Avocado, coconut oil, a few anchovies in oile
-
Speaking of Avocados... if you like guac then I recently tried mixing in some sweet potato with it.. makes for an extra health bonus for an already healthy food...
-
I have a thread in OI about guacamole.
-
Yea I think I seen it already...Just thought I'd mention how it could be healthy as well.
