If you delete your history, cookies etc can they EVER be found again?

Assuming the files haven't been overwritten, yes.

Only way to be 100% sure is to erase the entire drive. Look into DBAN.

The lazy mans way is to use any number of third party programs. I forget what the good one was called, but I'll figure it out in a bit.

Ah this was it.
http://download.cnet.com/CCleaner/
I can't personally vouch for it and I wouldn't trust it, but it will delete cookies, cache, etc. and has an option to securely delete these things (as in it overwrites them afterwards).

Actually, CCleaner is pretty well-known and trusted so it's fine.

Shit I phrased it bad, it's definitely not a virus. And its probably not bugged more than any other program might be. I would be wary about it removing everything you want removed, as in I wouldn't bet my freedom on it.

Bleachbit is superior to CCleaner, but I wouldn't trust either to do what you're asking. Windows leaves a lot of junk in hard to find places, and the only way to be certain you got everything is a secure erase of the entire drive.

In the future, if you need to browse without leaving any forensic evidence on your machine, use a live OS.

I've read many times that forensic detectives can pull anything up that has been there.  Hard drives are cheap these days.

I use CCleaner to delete basic files/cookies but they are technically still there, if that's what your talking about in this thread..
