Call of Duty Advanced Warfare
« on: November 16, 2014, 01:50:33 pm »
Picked this up on PS4 yesterday and holy shit its fun as fuck. The Campaign dope with tremedous acting by Kevin Spacey. Some uncanny valley type shit during cinematic scenes. I literally can't tell if its live action or animation during those. Multiplayer is dope jumpin around and doing like side boost sprint bursts in the air and shit and punchin fuckin fuckers out in mid air is very satisfying. haven't tried out the co-op yet becos i have no friends on PSN so if any of y'all have this game add me (HaitiSpaceAgency).

Your thoughts on the game?

I got this game to play on the PC and it's a breath of fresh fucking air after ghosts. I'm halfway through the campaign so far, loving the cutscenes and the overall movie-like feel of the game, but I guess that's just how all the cods work.

It reminds me of black ops 2 - the game play feels balanced and just fucking fun. I also like the changes that OP mentions like sprint bursts or double jumps, although Ive used these in Wolf:ET back in fucking 2006. It's still nice to see cod trying out new things and not just releasing a rehash of the previous title. black ops I is the only cod I logged more than 200 hours on, black ops 2 had like 160, ghosts only managed 30, it was lame. I think this is another cod I can log > 100 hours on.

Oh, another thing that reminds me here of blops: the maps seem smaller and more complex, like in blops, so there's a lot of fast paced action and your brain can feel the burn of reacting quickly. Fucking awesome game.

I've also noticed there is a lot less camping faggots than in previous games because hopping about the map is more fun than laying prone in a corner which is great.

I gave up on COD games as they are all the same.

Are we saying this is different?

Are we saying this is different?

Definitely. Not radically different but different enough to be a refreshing experience and fun game play.

It could be a tight choice between this and Lego Batman

because hopping about the map is more fun

I'll probably end up renting this game eventually, but this is the first COD game I haven't bought on a midnight release since Modern Warfare 2. I'm one of those people that a lot of the online community don't understand....I'm not looking for some great "new" game any year, but just little subtle variants and plot/theme differences. I originally liked the COD series because its a more "real" FPS, putting you in the boots of a soldier on the ground and trying to capture that experience.

But all of this hopping around bullshit is TOO video gamey for me. Its why I thought Halo was always gaylo, and what made COD so superior for so many years. The minute I saw the trailers months ago I knew I was going to bow out of this version, because its just too over the top cheeky for my tastes. I've probably put about 500 + hours on every multiplayer since COD4, and as annoying/goofy as the hopping looks from my end, I doubt it could hold my interest for a 5 day rental.

I've never actually played CoD before, so I might get it on my computer with the method stated 2 posts above ^

Me and you share gaming styles,   I prefer realistic games to all this hopping360noscope shit I always encounter online.   I switched to DayZ mod and DayZ SA for this reason and if you try a 360 no scope or bunny hop around a high traffic area your going to be killed very fast.

I bought it mainly for the multiplayer (Although I'm sure I'll campaign it soon).
Unfortunately I get kicked from every single multiplayer match I start. Something about disconnection from host or I need an active network connection.
:(
