Why? The safety argument seems like a load of bullshit, not posting sources for the protection of vendors. If they aren't selling anything illegal, what exactly are they being protected from?
Along with applying to the above, if it's an argument that less exposure will lead to less likelihood of governments banning them, that sounds completely unrealistic. These websites aren't hard to find, if the average person who manages can find them does so, how likely is it that a government employee, significantly more intelligent than the average person and tasked, trained, and payed to do so, able to devote significant time an effort, is going to be unable to?
A more reasonable argument would be erecting barriers to location to reduce the chance that an idiot is going to get their hands on it, do something stupid or kill themselves, then their dumbass parents who don't want to accept that their son is simply a fucking retard will bitch up a storm, some low quality news source will take on the sensationalist story, a politician makes it their temporary cause etc.
I don't really buy that, though. There's nothing stopping a vendor from advertising in the open, making it easy for those kinds of people to find it. You can usually find any RC just by googling "buy x" and one of those sources will probably be legitimate, although the price may be a ripoff. But further, I'd say that there's strong self-selection for intelligence for even being aware of most of these RC's, knowing what they do, why you want them, wanting them enough to put in the effort to find a reputable website, most people knowing they may get ripped off, and pay for it. The average idiot doesn't read the kind of websites where you learn and become aware of RC's like these, and even if they did come across a discussion they'd probably TL;DR and go back to Facebook or their eyes would quickly gloss over because they'd barely be able to grasp any of it.
Overall I doubt this is going to have any significant negative effect at all. There's also the positive effect of making reputation and knowledge of prices more available, leading to a benefit for the consumer. The word of mouth and invite only system is retarded, it's as if we're still living in the feudal ages. The feds probably laugh at the people who think they're doing anything to stop them.
