Fuck no I wouldn't. Unless they're hurting people, all they're doing is hurting the bank's wallet. Which I care nothing of.

Really they're just hurting the FDIC because all of the bank's cash is insured.

If I had the opportunity, yes.
Honesty may be the best policy, but it's important to remember that apparently, by elimination, dishonesty is the second-best policy.

This. I can't justify bank robbery in general so I couldn't justify it in a particular case without extenuating circumstances. But on the list of things I care about, or have an obligation to prevent, a particular robbery ranks pretty lowly. If there's a real risk of getting shot it would be dumb to try and stop it.

The fuck is with the bank not paying for the dudes medical bills? Seriously that faggot with a bag over his hand would have walked out with a couple thousand, and a fucking BANK doesn't want to fork over a few hundred for a caste and an examination?

Like someone pointed out, it wouldn't have actually cost the bank anything had the guy gotten away.

Having worked for banks I'll tell you that the policy is to do what the robber says. Employees aren't supposed to argue or fight back. Basically a robbery is just an annoyance that causes a bunch of paperwork and employees have to give statements to law enforcement. It's really not a big deal to a bank, especially since most robbers get very little cash.

I'd like to think I would do my best to prevent the robbery, only problem I'm having is figuring out how I'd do that from a tightly curled fetal position underneath a desk in the corner.

^what he said

As an aside, when I was working for banks, the 'rule' was for staff (always behind more or less bulletproof glass) to retreat to the armored panic room.  The theory being that this would avoid customers being taken hostage in exchange for money (thus creating a danger for customers).
These days most if not all local branches have an open, money free desks.  Often times money is only touched by armored transport staff who fill and empty the atm's and deposit machines.
Takes the fun out of bank robbing.

Yeah it's really hard to rob banks these days.

I wouldn't do shit man.. I'd offer to help in exchange for a cut of the money.

I've always wondered, they don't have a money counter that takes down the serial numbers of the bills?  The serials are pretty useless in general.. only reason for them I can think of would be for LE sting operations, or if someone robs a bank so they can figure out where the money is being spent..

I worked at a bank for 4 years. It would be the easiest place to rob because we were told to do exactly as they said - nothing more, nothing less. We had drawer limits though, so it wouldn't be a boatload (though a lot more than some convenience store or something). We didn't have an armored panic room or anything, but we were trained on how to react and how to look for identifying features, plus good security cameras.
