You must've worked at a sketch ass bank. The ones I worked at either had Garda or Brinks security transport everything.
Nah, it was a good bank. It's a local bank with 9 branches (well, 8 now), but they're good. I still use them today.
We would use Loomis or whatever company it would be to buy and sell money, but occasionally a branch would run out of a denomination and would need to buy from another branch. They usually didn't trust tellers to do that, but hey, it was me. Funny thing is they discovered that I was really only authorized to carry $20k, so they couldn't do any more $40k stuff.
They had pretty much as much of my personal information as they could get, so it's not like I'd take off with it. I just hoped the count came out correctly when I got there.
At the branch I spent the most time at, I think the vault limit was $150k or so, and then we'd have to sell to the fed. Drawer limits were $7,500 or else you couldn't roll over at the end of the day, though they didn't really like us to keep that much out if we didn't need it. It was a pretty cool job getting through college. I almost chose banking as a full time gig, but then I jumped over to corporate America.
