So SWIM and her friend were carhopping at a walmart around 2am this morning. Everything was going normally, they found an unlocked Toyota and hopped in and shut the doors. They rummaged through the car for about a minute and upon finding nothing of interested decided to hop out.

FUCK. there's no door handles on either of their doors. There is a small piece of string attached to one of the places where the handles should be. SWIM pulls on it, it breaks. FUCK.

Try back doors, no handles on them either. This is the jankiest car known to man. One can only assume this guy constantly keeps his windows rolled down so he can open it from the outside.

So SWIM and friend panic for a minute or two trying to find a way out, before finally crawling into the trunk and pulling the emergency escape latch.

fun fact, it is illegal to remove the emergency release in the trunk...at least it is in Texas. I had a snafu when my 1968 Delta 88 didn't have one, and the dipshit at the inspection station didn't know that wasn't ALWAYS a law.

slim jims are not illegal to buy, or own. its a tool. reposessors and lock smiths use them all the time. they are fairly outdated and are not readily available at auto stores/retail tool suppliers.

however, if you are caught with one just walking around, it is considered a burglary tool, and you WILL get in trouble for that. ninja rocks fall into this category as well

disabling the alarm-I will do a proper write up sooner or later, along with 3 and 6 wire ignition systems, but in short you are going to find the fuse block and pull one of 3 fuses. there are faster ways if you are not stealing the car.

you do have to know up from down on a car, and have pliers or a screwdriver.
