If you had $1000 to invest...

If you had $1000 to invest... How would you invest it?

In this situation you have No Debt, and your overhead is completely covered. What would you do with a grand?

Speculate in altcoin markets or find some sort of arbitrage opportunity. Try not to lose it because 1k isn't a whole lot of money.

I used to do that but I never fixed it I just make the appearance look better. I made sure the car could run, had title up to date, and clear of everything. I learned the hard way on my first purchase. However, I painted the car myself with professional spray cans from home depot. The materials cost me only 45 bucks which saved me a lot of money. They have videos on YouTube to show you how. I text 20 people selling cars on craigslist a day. I texted them a low ball ass offer the ones that text me back I knew they would negotiate. I bought a ford truck for $600 bucks and it wasn't that bad. It didn't  have a radio and very terrible body paint it was rusty. I painted it myself and bought a radio/CD player from swap meet for $50 bucks and installed it myself I learned how to do it from YouTube lol I sold it for $1800. It was good profit.

I bought the sketchiest mercury once, paid $770 for it from this mexican dude. sold it for $1300 without doing a thing to it a day later.

my friend bought a suburban for $1k, paid me $500 to put a new 4l60e in it, sold it for like $2200. idk what he paid for the transmission though.

I bought my current car for 2k, put a $200 transmission in it, and some kid offered me $5k plus his VW golf for it...I'm seriously considering it.

If your not a Triple A member you should consider it because I saved soo much time with them because instead of going to the long ass line at DMV to get the title in my name I would easily do it at Triple A which has no lines and only takes 3 minutes. They saved me a lot of time.

This sounds like an awesome deal. I would take it for sure.

This also makes me want to start shopping around Craigslist for cheap cars...

What does being a drug addict have to do with it?

Just 1k? Drugs are probably the best option. Buy in bulk and flip for profit.

Just 1k? Drugs are probably the best option. Buy in bulk and flip for profit.

Honestly flipping drugs is generally a bad/high-risk idea but at a one time investment of 1k it might be a pretty solid option. Really depends on your connections and your intended market. I know that I could buy 1k of acid from a friend of a friend and I could sell out in a week selling only to people I know at a college that doesn't usually involve police in drug matters. I would be way too paranoid to try to sell to strangers who might rob me or deal on the street where cops could pick me up.

Don't try to flip a car if you don't know shit about cars.

You could also try buying some bluechip stocks the next time the market dips like it did last month when there was all that FUD about Greece. I would hold them for a year rather than try to sell them off quickly (for tax purposes as well as general investment philosophy).

If you planned on regularly contributing $1000 to an investment account, let's say, then it would be a good idea to invest in index funds and hold them long term (as in, decades). Since you're on this forum you're probably not interested in retirement or long-term financial planning, but this is the smartest way to invest your money.
