I'd never really seen things from this moderator perspective before, and I've gotta say it's really fascinating. Most of us really want the same thing: a fun forum where everyone is allowed to express themselves without fear of bans or censorship. The whole freedom of speech spiel, right? But there have been petty Nazi mods *cough* meta *cough*, absent admins and all sort of nasty things preventing us from becoming a true internet utopia. Fuckin' mods, amirite?
But wow, watching you guys from this new place. I've been tasked with gently keeping things on track as we all express ourselves and be our awesome individual selves. For the most part it's been really great. But this drama seems to come out of nowhere, and take the board over like some sorta toxic cloud of death. It's no good when half the threads in the "Recent Posts" list are little more than hateful spam directed at the staff. I mean, do you guys realize how that looks to people considering registering? Or even to the people already here, simply trying to do their own thing. Slave, as intelligent and rational as you as, very few people want to read your paragraphs of complaint about how I'm working to defame your character. In many ways these emotional expressions of anger directed at me are seriously detrimental to the website. Even losers and degenerates (as we are
) aren't going to appreciate this constant drama over basically nothing.
The hate may be coming from a good place, as we're all concerned about the website and want to see it succeed. Somewhere though, that rational concern gets lost through human corruption and it comes out as mindless and mean nonsense. Does this make sense? Good intentions good, blind drama bad.
Can we all just calm down, and like. Be our fun, individual selves? Without the drama. Please god without the drama. If you have a sincere concern, talk to me. My door is open. But remember: drama bad. productive communication very good.
