At zoklet, they sort of let it slide when we cross posted in the equivalent of SG and HB.  Sort of.  But if a post was out of place, it would generally just be moved with no fuss and no complaints.

Depends who you were, and who you had pissed off.  Here we try to treat everyone the same.

Lately I've been doing most of the NIMFing and locking.  Simply moving is the preferred method, but I will generally not move posts into HB because HB is not a trash can.  It's a quality forum with a specific purpose.  NIMF threads are locked so they don't stick around long in the new posts listings.  If people would post their threads in the right place it'd be fine.

I sent Bling 2 PMs at different times asking him to please post his threads in the proper forums.  And warned him (not like *click* WATCHED but an actual communication of "hey....") that if he kept it up he'd be banned.  He knew what he was doing, and now we're all suffering without him

Its Saturday night, and while most of their peers are out partying, picking up women, enjoying the company of friends, or actually using the internet in a productive/fun manner.....I've got multiple people spending THEIR evening with deep analysis of my posting habits and dissecting my opinions with such scrutiny. That's actually one thing I dislike about both here and zoklet (see: psychomantits). Things were trashcanned instead of put where they belonged. But people who repeatedly post in the wrong place should be infracted (even though the layout is bloated and they probably can't find the right sections to begin with).

Back in the totse days, I posted mostly in HB.  It was great.  We were a pretty tight-knit group of outcasts and degenerates.  But there were some mods (Meta, Arms) who hated us because sometimes we'd cause trouble.  They would move threads into HB when they felt they belonged there, and those of us that actually posted there didn't appreciate it.  Because we had our own thing going on, and we were decidedly not a trash can!

This resulted in some drama at times.  HB mods would send the threads back to the "serious" forums and those mods would get pissed and cry to administration.  Was a big mess.

Maybe things are different here, and the modern HB crowd wouldn't mind.  It's just really hard for me to send threads there knowing how unappreciated and stuff we all felt for being treated like the place where garbage was sent.

I don't see it as normal that one would be so territorial about a forum that they view moving threads around to the proper place as some sort of intrusion.  Moving threads to where they belong is not 'treating the place like where garbage is sent' or whatever....
