I know this is a very old subject, and many years ago I stripped all shelves within north central indiana of any poppy seeds that were worth a damn.  A day came where even the dependable sources didn't work anymore...I am not sure if they harvested them different or what they changed about them, but they were just different. 

But this evening I was at a store where I used to buy seeds, and I have no idea why, but I took the top off of a container and smelled them.....and I smelled potential.  I can sort of tell by the smell of them if they are good or not, the no-good ones have more of a 'green' smell, and the good ones smell more 'woody'.

In about an hour I am going to break out the funnel and two liter bottle and maybe get high as fuck.

Y'know what they changed? They started washing the seeds before shipping them. That's all.

There were still tiny bits of opium on the seeds and junkies all around the world knew that and made disgusting tasting opium poppy tea from OTC poppy seeds. Then the companies noticed that and started washing the seeds completely clean off of all opiates so they could get even richer and the consumer got fucked.

I don't think they actually 'washed' them, I heard that they harvest them differently.  If they did wash them, it would cost a fuck-ton and also be prone to mold.

PS these seeds are fucking good as fuck.  I typed elsewhere that methadone was my drug of choice, well I lied.  Poppy seeds 4 life, yo.  I have never had any other opiate that makes waves of pleasure run down my arms and legs and all I can do is lay on the floor and say 'oh my god' over and over again.

This isn't something that should be done regularly due to the heavy metals in those seeds, which end up accumulating in your body.  If this is something you plan on doing regularly, I recommend switching to poppy pods, although I do not know where you can acquire them other than growing.

There are also reports of using plain tap water in the process of making poppy tea with seeds. This consists of washing the seeds of opium residue that has coated the outer part of the seeds during processing from the pod. Processing includes crushing the fresh pod, to release the seeds thus causing some opium from the pod to come into contact with the seeds. Untreated poppy seeds may contain upwards of 330–515 mg of morphine and 75–200 mg of codeine per kilo of seeds, whereas most seeds available commercially have been washed which cuts the alkaloid content by 50 per cent or more; this adds even more to the batch-to-batch variability in content, as noted below with respect to the California overdose case.

back when I was addicted I would do 2 lbs of seeds at a time.  I did 6 oz. this time.

Once a week (a saturday night thing) is regularly.  Now I don't know how fast these heavy metals can accumulate or how quickly they can affect your health.  I don't really care what you do.  I just want you to know that using this stuff once a week, again and again and again, will have an adverse effect on your health, and that there are healthier (but probably more expensive) options available out there, somewhere.

The strongest seeds I ever found required about 6 oz. to work.  The ones I have now, I used to have to extract from at least a pound and a half to get high.  Tonight I took 6 oz. worth and I am feeling pretty good. 

And heavy metals?  It kinda doesn't matter.  I live in one of the more polluted cities in the US, plus I have worked in factories and aluminum foundries for years, so I am probably riddled with heavy metals already.

I've been making tea from Safeway-brand poppy seeds lately lol. Made some last two nights in a row. First night it gave me excruciating stomach pain which eventually faded to something kind of nice and buzzy. Last night had a bit of discomfort but it was warded off with two TUMS and some food. It actually works, even Safeway brand, though I've found the itch-to-pleasure ratio to be unfairly heavy on the itch side.

I just use a piece of paper, an empty two liter dr. pepper bottle, and some tap water.  I roll the paper into a funnel, stick it in the bottle, pour all the seeds in, then put water in the bottle, shake it up for 30 seconds, then loosen the lid and squirt it into a cup.  I repeat two or three times and collect all the seed water, then drink it.
