When they asked 'what prior experience (as a mod) do you have?'

People over use the word "cringe" way to muchany more on the internet....but when I read that question, it might have been one of the most awkward things I've ever read concerning  a BBS. They are taking themselves SO seriously, its like the admins picture themselves as human resources drones in corporate America going through the painstaking process of sorting through the vast(?) amount of candidates they'll be inundated with. What was the next step before being modded? Supplying 3 professional references, taking a profile test, and then having to pee in a cup?

I simply don't understand why everyone wants to be a mod of any of these messes of bbs sites since the downfall of zoklet. I guess maybe its a control thing? I say fuck it I'm free now and I always enjoyed just being a regular poster anyways which might be why my approval rating is much higher than the rest of the staff I used to mod with.

It's like... I don't know maybe people feel the need to control others or something I don't really get it.

Because there is a huge segment of the populace that never have "control" of anything in their lives, and unconsciously realize they'll always be the low man on the totem pole subserviant to the rest of the world. Whether its their parents, boss, or spouses...all they can do is take their marching orders and grin and bear it. Being a mod is their way to escape reality for a couple of hours, and they get off fucking with people, fucking with their text, and having some sense of power(?) or responsibility(?).

That is why I got such a hearty laugh when people always said I was trying to get modded on these various sites, because I'm already "in charge" of plenty whether at work or home and don't have the kind of tattered ego that gets off on it. Even as a business manager of various industries I never really relished the power (although I am good at it), because my ego gets enough stroking just by putting 2 feet on the floor every morning and walking the earth.

Funny thing is, years ago when I was in counseling for road rage and anger management....my therapist found it intriguing that my root of road rage was completely different that the majority of folks that suffer from it. Most people get road rage because its one of the few times during their day they mistakenly believe they are "in control" of something, whereas with mine its the one of the rare times I feel like I'm NOT in control since I'm at the mercy of other people's incompetence and stupidity potentially putting my life and my family's life in jeopardy.

Make no mistake. Who gets picked as staff here is treated INCREDIBLY seriously. If the admins pick someone to be staff (all global moderators, and admins must be approved by the existing admin or admins), it will be because they have excelled completely. The people we pick must be model posters. We will only accept the best and will expect a lot out of them no matter who they are. They will be held to a very high standard but, as a result, they will BE the standard and will also hold a very high level of respect from me and the other admins. They are the keepers of the Sanctuary.

I don't need a control panel or a sense of power better than you mentality. I enjoy fucking around and having lulz on sites like these.

Mizled knocked me for asking to be a mod and I'm not denying it I did in fact ask them many of times to be a mod because I wanted to help. I was wrong for doing that. The best way to help is being part of the community and contributing.

Everyone from the zoklet staff is jumping at every chance to have a control panel and I simply don't get it. Out with the old in with the new I say. It all obviously didnt work on zoklet so maybe the problem isn't the community but the "leaders" of it.

If your head gaskets on your car blow do you sit there turning the key saying "if I put a new paint job on it it'll be fine!"?

I think this place will be alright to be honest. Unlike zok arnox is actually involved with this place. I don't think hell pull the "zok auto pilot" move that completely failed as we all witnessed

As long as the user base keeps trying to put everything on zok and the moderators, nothing will ever change. Arnox is already starting to get burnt the fuck out (check the global site drama thread) and it's only been a month. If this places makes it to the end of the year I'll be surprised.

People need to individually start embracing the qualities that they would like to see in others; as such if all we have is people shit posting and drama queening then that's all this site is going to be and it will be doomed.

But nobody really cares. They just want to see their post count go up and to make stupid jokes and call each other faggots...or endlessly complain about zok/the staff of zoklet.

I'm still going to try to contribute stuff here but I think I'm going to focus more on just writing stuff for my blog then cross-posting it here. And if nothing comes of it then, well, 8chan.co is starting to feel like home for me...it reminds me the most of 2005 era interbuttz.

I'm still working on an Arnox recipe. So far I have:

1. Place one family-sized Arnox in deep, square pan
2. Marinate in garlic butter for 40 minutes
3. Insert thermometer
4. Add one cup mashed carrots, one table spoon of hot sauce, quarter cup of vinegar
5. Sprinkle three pinches pepper across entire hide evenly
6. Place in oven at 450° until well done
7. Set on window sill for 20 minutes to cool

(Serves 15 adults, or 10 adults and 12 kids)

Of course you are trying to remove any culpability to the moderators, because since you were on the staff too you can't handle the fact you WERE very much in a position to dictate quality of posting. You're a fucking moron, I've contributed more to totse & zoklet than you have ever contributed to anything in your life. Starting at age 16 I wrote the "Rizzo the mythbuster: snorting benzos does work", organized the BLTC research project, organized the Dose zine which produced a lot of great original content even though it never reached a state where it could be published, wrote countless stories, wrote a guide to reducing opiate and amphetamine tolerance, organized the NFHC infophilia thread, wrote a guide on preventing and reversing APAP overdoses, and countless other things.

And that's just BLTC, I was also a big contributor to Humanities, the Religion & Spirituality forum, the conspiracy forum, the paranormal forum, etc...

I honestly think that this is a distinct possibility.  Arnox has already showed signs of mental instability, which are not conducive with the operation of a forum for delinquents.
