Heh she apparently thinks that progress is made by everyone working together and being peaceful with each other. 

Maybe one day she will have an epiphany and realize that nature and reality actually need competition, rivalry and violence to work properly.  Never once in this world has there ever been 'peace on earth' and such a thing as a 'fair playing field'.

We don't need a fair playing field to move toward peace.  It helps to even things out as best we can, such as with egregious wage disparity, but it's certainly not necessary or even possible to even the world out much at all.

Instead of talking about something huge, I'll keep it limited to like individual salvation.  That should be more palpable.  If our goal is inner peace and quieting the demons in our head, then violence is only going to be detrimental.

None of those things above are progress.  It's all just thrashing about pointlessly, as we have since ancient times.  True progress will be moving beyond the need for violence.
