How to get spiders out of the home?

I hate spiders, even though I try not to.  It's one of those things you can understand intellectually (spiders are a hugely important piece of the giant nature puzzle!) but then no.  I hate them.

There are spiders in the woods here with leg spread as big as my hand.  The one in the picture is the biggest one I have ever seen in my house, though.

There arw spiders here called 'banana spiders' that get huge

My first meeting with one was when i was a little kid running thru the woods and face planted right into one and its web

I tried to catch that spider in the picture with my hand but it was too fast so I slapped it with a 'ted nugents greatest hits' CD case.  It fucking ran away, but the next day I found it dead in the middle of my living room.
