Suggestion: remove Half Baked from Recent Topics

As we have been discussing post quality and shitposting, a lot of the discussion starts with how the recent topics section looks.  Right now, it is cluttered and a lot of useful threads get buried.

Since SG and HB both show up in the recent topics, I rarely move things because more people go off of the recent topics block than they do browse the specific forums.  However, I suggest we remove the HB forum from showing up at all in the recent topics, much like bat country did not show up in the Zoklet recent topics.

I would start moving a lot more threads to HB, namely from SG and BLTC.  However, HB still adheres to site-wide rules and would not simply be a trash can.  Several threads might become NIMF'd.  Furthermore, I haven't tested it, but we should never have a NIMF thread displayed in the recent topics section.

I think they should increase the amount of top posts.  Or let us set them.  Is that an option?  I like having all the forums in personally, because then I get a good sampling of everything.  It keeps shit from going all homo.

what about like a separate recent posts section in Half Baked its self that way you can see what's active there without having it dominate all the other low activity sub forums

People want entertainment. Don't remove anything from recent posts. It's perfect how it is. Maybe even make it longer. Nobody scrolls down to Flasks and Beakers anyway. It's all about Hot Topics.

If you click on the little newspaper or whatever it is next to the Recent Posts header, it will show you the 100 most recent posts.

I actually agree with limiting HB more than limiting NIMF. What are the odds of a valid topic finding it's way to NIMF? What determines what belongs in NIMF? "Off topic" threads? Threads questioning forum staff? Are staff willing to move threads out of NIMF?

I suppose a thread could potentially become worthy of a forum after becoming unworthy of a forum, but it's unlikely. I figure if a thread isn't even worth HB, then it fits my suggestion of not being worthy of the recent topics.
