While I would like to be able to "thank" posts, I agree that there is no need for a 'rep' system. I suppose that if "thanks" are in order a reply to any specific post will have to be sufficient. If it is such a big deal to some people, maybe they would compromise with the addition of a thanks button without the score keeping?
