Speaking of which, this thread can not be a psychological dissection of why Joseph Mengele used to give candy to jews before sending them to the chambers.

There are numerous reasons really and I can't fully speculate as to why he did this as I am not the man himself but I'd be interested in hearing others theories

That's not the real reason though, one reason, I would speculate, in the same vein is that having your physical relationship with the kids being giving them candy denotes responsibility and also removes some psychological pain from the kids (and vice versa), the kids are happy as hell they've got candy (sugary shekels) and Mengele wished them to specific harm that would denote NOT giving candy to children (as a kind and gentle man), instead he treated them like he would any kid...but business is business...

I'm literally getting a 23andme done to figure out just how german I am. I think it's gonna be like 20% german, 78% scot/english and 2% nordic
