Too old to wear Vans
« on: November 23, 2014, 04:09:55 pm »
So I went to buy some shoes yesterday, and I discovered that somewhere in the last year and a half, popular clothing has becoming to fucking faggoty for me to wear anymore.  I just couldn't do it.  So I had to go and buy more adult footwear since every pair of Vans I saw was looked like some shit you'd find the Jonas Brothers wearing.  It was a weird experience, finding out one is too old to wear trendy stuff anymore.

Pros: No longer look like 16 yr old, twice as comfortable as any skate shoes I've ever owned

Cons: costs twice as much as any skate shoes I've ever owned, actually require one to take care of them.

Not Istanbul.

I hear ya. I just wear my black, low-top, slip-resistant, Dr. Scholl's "work" shoes basically everywhere I go. 15 dollars. Kmart. That Dr. Scholl is underrated 'far as I'm concerned. By that I mean I'd fuck him, and by I'd fuck him I mean I think he doesn't get the credit he deserves.

Now that you're thinking more like an adult it might be time to consider your health when purchasing footwear.  The human body evolved the way it did for very good reasons, and it's likely that our shoes are causing us a lot of problems.  Work with old people and you know it's just considered normal for everyone to stop being able to wear normal shoes at some point and require highly specialized podiatric footwear.  Because regular shoes cause postural problems and pain in the elderly, and their feet need specialized support.

Maybe that's just something that happens with old age, or maybe it's the result of a lifetime of restrictive and unnatural shoes.  We really can't expect our feet to work properly if we're never using them properly, right?  Plantar and dorsi flexion are things, people didn't evolve for their heels to always be raised higher than their toes, and feet are not rigid and immovable as shoes tend to be.

So I wear minimalist/barefoot stuff, after doing lots of research.

Normally I don't agree with your leftist drivel....but here you are 100% absolutely correct.

I would also go so far as to say that if one wants to go this route, just go with a good old pair of moccassins.  Don't be one of those people that wears those wierd shoes with the individual toes.  Those people need to be soundly beaten and driven out of our society, to live on the fringes as outcasts and marginals.

yeah I am not even going to bother going into detail about how much of a faggot constantinople is for trying to dress 'trendy' in the first place.  'Skate shoes'....jesus christ....

eh I said I wasn't going to do this....constantinople knows exactly what I think of him, so I guess it is not necessary to point out each and every reason why I am 100% sure I would laugh at him derisively if I knew him in real life

Those shoes look gayer than vans, and thats saying something, because any teenager where i live wearing vans or etnies immediately gets stuck in the face. Shoulda gone with desert boots, got a pair from clarke bros, theyre pretty much the same style just not gay as yours
