I'm going to start the full archival of Zoklet tomorrow.
I'd say start today if you have time. Plug might get pulled soon

I could and probably should, but I am nice and snug in my bed. Wanna snuggle, bro?
I'm ready to hit the hay. A little snuggling won't hurt

I don't know if you were referencing me, 420bunny, but I am taking a full image of the site even now. Been going since last night. I decided to get out of bed, turn my computer on, and start it after all. It's going to take many hours...

Alright. I have downloaded the raw .php and vbulletin data directly off of the server. I will work on putting up a functional mirror of Zoklet (but I will have the forums turned off forever) to be used as a sort of "Living Museum" to look back on and giggle. Things will remain as they were up until yesterday, so any additional posts or threads will not be included in my mirror since then.

In addition to that, I am currently downloading a "working offline copy" of the website that I will be putting out there as a torrent file so you can each own a copy of Zoklet.

I will link to the torrent file first, as that will be most easily and quickly done. It will take me a bit of time to get a table created then install vBulletin and upload our content. It may not even work, but I'll work out the bugs and whatnot or link up with someone who knows more about PHP/MYSQL than I do and I will share the direct FTP material once Zoklet is fully offline. Cross that bridge when we get to it.

For now, expect a torrent in the next couple days. I'll seed it for awhile, as long as you guys do too so everyone can get a copy if they want it. :)

God bless you sir

also, have you talked to Mr. Orange? He's talked about hosting a new site and having the mirror as an archive of it would be pretty sweet
God Bless

we still gotta have someone copy the archives onto a hard drive and bury it in a stainless steel air tight box as a time capsule

I haven't spoken to anyone else in terms of organizing some sort of archive. I was pretty much going to go about it solo, however if there are those who would host my mirror/install it/configure it/ensure it remains a closed forum so no additional posts/threads can be created and added to it, then that would be cool too. I was going to do all of that, but to be honest I am not a whiz with mysql tables. I'd prefer someone with some more experience do handle that and someone who has some dedicated  server space and bandwidth.

And  yeah, by all means, we could take my mirror, throw that bitch up our own server and kick it off right where we left off with, but I think that's too much work for a dead website. Just let it die. We'll save what we can.

The file I am going to be torrenting will be in .rar format so you will need WinRAR or another compatible archive tool to unrar it. It should functionally work as an offline copy of Zoklet up to September 1st, 2014. Just give me a couple days to finish the current download, zip it, and get it as a torrent. Might be as early as tomorrow. I'll post back with a link.

You can't buy what someone isn't selling. Zok isn't selling.
