I'll have to keep it concise right now. I would highly recommend the book "Future Imperfect" by David Friedman, very important and a fun read. I think you'll really like some of the ideas that are discussed in it. Just look at the table of contents and it will probably pique your interest.

So what? The ideal solution would be for humanity to merge with the singularity, with machines and artificial intelligence.

Think about this: A simple definition for intelligence can be the ability to deal with complexity. We make decisions based on the information we have available and our ability to understand it. Our intelligence also limits our ability to gather and understand data.
Stemming from these premises: Isn't it logical to maximize intelligence, artificial intelligence being the most effective method to do so, in order to maximize our ability to do the above, understand reality and make correct decisions?

A single human life is nothing. What does it matter if it doesn't work out if you're going to die one day regardless and will only ever experience a limited human life?

As to the likely question of a doomsday scenario with the AI exterminating humanity, I'll paint a picture for you: The cost of assimilating humanity versus eliminating it, deadman's switch, and how an AI would deal with unknown risk. To clarify the last point, if it can gain x resources by eliminating humanity, but is aware that there is a deadman's switch* that will trigger if it begins to harm humans, the mechanism and potential damage being unknown, how will it tolerate unknown existential risk? Would it be willing to tolerate any significant risk to its existence as opposed to simply eliminating humans in order to gain simple resources, which something of its immense intelligence and power could easily acquire elsewhere?

*Note: Keep in mind that humans are very good at destruction, and in this case it would be an all out attempt with technology available in the future, some previously classified/secret. In fact, if set to be able to trigger even if, or when, all humans had been eliminated, it would not matter if the entire planet was literally destroyed or rendered uninhabitable by man or machine.

do you realize the capability for destruction our technology already has, and how the importance of that capability eclipses the potential benefits? we could literally have WWIII happen within 30 minutes and that would be the end of everything. the only way we currently keep this potential for destruction under control is basically by treaty, new and improved stringent regulations, and a constant fear of an apocalypse. none of this would have been possible a century ago, and the stakes are going to keep on getting higher.

How are you going to stop advancement? A one world government that you believe will agree with you on anything and be immune to corruption or error? That would be incredibly naive and dangerous.

WMD's likely wouldn't even exist in a stateless society (Almost no one has any understanding of this. They've read nothing about it, know nothing about the various theories, and believe it can be refuted with 3 seconds of thought from this base (largely due to the negative impression created by left-anarchists, who tend to be fucking idiots and teenagers)), along with the risk of wide scale deaths and catastrophe being far smaller. There was very good analysis in "Chaos Theory" by Robert Murphy. This would require a discussion on certain types of anarchism, which would be very lengthy.

Back to Friedman, he discusses decentralized solutions and incentives. There are generally far more people who would like to safeguard their safety and prevent disaster than otherwise. Bombs aren't unstoppable. Even without statelessness there could already be classified methods to deal with this, or they could be developed in the future.

Think of what a standard conversation entails. It really isn't that complex. Generally there isn't even physical contact. Replicate facial expressions and body language (not that hard even with current tech).

I may never have developed these ideas and goals without it, but regardless of the state of life of a person, I think a sound argument can be made for the eventual superiority of these systems.

There are already many people with terrible disorders or terrible environments who have a very low quality of life. This could easily be superior, or at least augment their QoL.

Just look outside your house, does the vast majority of world really seem that interesting and enjoyable? I looked in/above the air duct in the laundry room , above the blind covers for the windows and went through all the magazine pages that I have and even dumped out my filing cabinet to see if i stashed it with other mail/bills .. I give up im sure I'll find it when I move out but if not then this house is worth $30 more.
