everything's socially stratified but not everyone views human bonding as an S&M game, most(?)some(?) people are indifferent to what power they hold and are satisfied that way. but i see what you mean by control, because higher up = anxiety, lower = less fear of rejection = more easy to make friends with.

The 150 number, or Dunbar number, is an average estimation.
Some people get less than that and some people get more but overall, you can only get a friend close enough for roughly that number.

It's just hard these days. No real reason to have IRL friends when you can just Facebook or w/e to get your social interactions. Do you know how many people I've met that just want to smoke weed, ride bike, and check out cool places? One.
