Phobias
« on: October 30, 2014, 09:16:58 pm »
Does anyone have a bad phobia, justified or otherwise?

Even mild heights make me nervous, but this is one phobia I can overcome if I have to. Fuck driving across huge suspension bridges though. Fuck it in the ear. Especially since the Mackinac has two lanes of metal grating, and you can see the fucking water through the goddamn road.

I also get freaked out when I get rained on. I had it under control at one point, and then I almost got hit by lightning. Seriously, it was close enough that I got a flash burn (about equal to a very mild sunburn). I'm perfectly fine inside a house or a car, where I'm insulated. Oddly, when my trailer park got hit by a tornado (seriously, it sounds like a joke but it happened) that did not make it worse.

Additionally, fuck clowns. Because clowns.

I'll try anything once, and twice to be sure.

I have quite a few. Can`t stand heights.

Strangest one is perhaps cyanophobia. I can`t eat, drink or wear anything blue. Get sick just thinking about it. Blue is not a natural food colour.  >:(

I have an irrational fear of having my hands and fingers broke/cut off or otherwise severely  hurt, I don't know why can't recall them ever being really harmed before.

I have none

I remember when I was little I was on the roof of a tall building with no parapet.  One of the big kids was close to the edge but none of the little kids would go near it.  I had some sort of terrified sensation that felt like pins and needles combined with nausea.   An inner voice was saying to stop being such a fucking wuss so I went closer. Still had the terrified sensation. Inner voice said stop being a faggot...that other kid is fine...so I went closer. This went on for about ten or fifteen steps until I was about a foot from the edge and closer to the edge than the big kid. I almost couldn't move and wanted to go back but my inner voice made me stand there till the terror went away.

That was the last time I had a phobia about anything

Now heights dont phase me at all. As a matter of fact, they're fun and not being afraid of heights came in handy for jumping out of airplanes and helicopters and climbing down the sides of tall objects.  My neighbors spazz out when they see me 30 feet in the air in a tree that im trimming...with no ladder...or walking around on my roof

Needles.   the kind you inject yourself with or a doctor gives you. The mere thought of drugs or chem's being injected into my body puts me in defence mode.
lol I play things the hard way if I have to get a tooth worked on or surgery.

Yeah, I'm scared of something alright. Real scared, like, those spine-tingles and shivers and icy hot nerves type of scared. That scared where my kidneys pulsate in an abstract sort of pain reminding me of the fright. The one where when I think of my fear and I wish to any god out there that I could be anywhere else in the universe, ANYWHERE else at any time other than that moment. When I think real hard and I cry tears of suspenseful unknowing terror; the ones that pool up and drop hard to the ground. Oh I'm scared alright. Quivering, trembling, knee-knocking, nauseating fear. I'm so fucking scared right now. For the love of all things holy and sacred I hate nothing more than underwater mountains.

Being captured and tortured 17 times daily for 65 years. Also constantly being electrocuted. But that goes hand in hand with phobia #1. I guess technically neither of those things are phobias, since I'm not actually concerned about them happening, but those are the things I would least want to ever happen. Since I don't have any irrational fears, I guess that takes the cake.

Actually, by definition my main phobia is 'Islamophobia', but I dispute that being scared of muslims taking over my country is irrational in anyway, and is therefore not a phobia. More like a readily viewable statistic that is currently plaguing many countries in europe.

You're correct; these aren't phobias. They also aren't the things you would least want to happen ever, probably. For one, you'd probably least rather have being tortured 33 times a day for 85 years be the case. You'd also hate constantly being electrocuted through probes stuck into your urethra, anus, and eye sockets, respectively, while being bellybutton fucked by obese men in their mid-40s wearing pig-noses and playing an endless Cher 'Do you Believe in Life After Love' loop.

Kind of boring one, but spiders.  I have skipped showers in the past as a result of finding spiders in the bathroom :/

But would you mind so much if they were chill Muslims like make up the majority of Turkey (though sadly, not their government)?
