I'm questioning your authority to complain about the staff..
ELL OH ELL @ "authority to complain about staff". Are you serious? We ALL have that authority, as living breathing sentient beings with the ability to observe utter hypocrisy and stumbling incompetence. ESPECIALLY in a place that "invites" criticism/complaints....by not 1 but 2 separate sections of this board. Along with the big bold neon sign advertising..."post staff complaints here now".
The fact you think people need "authority" to state the obvious or question the hypocrisies of a BBS, proves how you take the internetz and message forums WAY to seriously feigning some sense of "protocol" or 'rank and file"....and have zero business commenting on anyone else's emotional attachment to this place or the problems it brings.
Dropping this other comment here, as I don't want to further derail Slave's thread since you and some of the staff seem so intent in doing so....
I actually have no interest in being a Mod. I actually have no intention of sticking around here for any longer than necessary. My post count.. my lengthy replies to most threads.. that's just how I am. I have a tendency to ramble on, and the reason why I am here is because like most people here.. I need an outlet. Into Sanctuary serves that purpose.. But honestly, I can really only handle so much stupidity. Shit posts don't really bother me, and half the time.. I run with it. But I need more stimulating conversation and a less self destructive environment. Who knows, I may make a board of my own sometime and try to create the intellectually constructive version of what I had hoped this place could be... That said, there is nothing wrong with this forum.. It really is no better and no worse than its predecessors at this point. And if I do take it upon myself to take up the mantle of architect for my own vision, I probably wont relay that information to the community here.. No offense to anyone, but you'll either find it upon yourself one day or just never know that it exists. I wouldn't want to siphon from this community because I actually have an honorable bone or two.. and.. I'd undoubtedly get an influx of trolls that I could spare myself with by never making my project directly aware to them in the first place..
So just to clear that up, even though I know you and a few others love my posts so incredibly much, I really am a short timer here.. I'd say a few weeks to a month tops. But even with that in mind, I'm still going to post and contribute, as I have been doing.. and when I'm gone, it'll just be one less white knight to bare yours and others insistent bitching.. lol <-- sounded meaner than I intended, but I don't edit myself short of grammar.. You do actually make some fair and legitimate points from time to time, as does Slave, Obbe and a few others.. I just don't like your manner of addressing issues, that's all. If you and others only conducted yourselves in a more mature and professional manner, I really think you would make more progress in your claims vs. making a decent point only to coat it in multiple layers of shit. Also, maybe not entirely directed at you, but you do back up those who do.. so technically, there is some fault by association.
There is so much inconsistency and back-peddling in just these 2 paragraphs...its astounding someone that claims to be logical and rational would throw all of that way in the quest of whiteknighting a hypocritical admin.
First you go on about "so much stupidity","need more stimulating conversation", "less self destructive environment".....then do a complete 180 and say..."there is nothing wrong with this forum" just a couple of sentences later. ELL OH FUCKIN ELL @ how your tone changed the minute you wanted to start defending what you believe is a "competent" staff.
What's especially funny is how you then go on saying you AGREE with many of the people's commentary....but are uncomfortable with the manner of delivery? In THIS of all places you are butthurt and aghast at people's choice of verbiage because some don't sugar-coat or tap-dance around the issues? If banter that isn't politically correct or "nice" leaves you so discombobulated, then I suggest you go back to the rest of the internet that worries more about not hurting other people's feeling or "playing it safe"....because clearly this culture doesn't fit into your schism or comfort level.
Finally, you have the audacity to drone on about "conducted yourselves in a more mature and professional manner"....towards the userbase, when you are completely putting the cart before the horse. There is no obligation for any regular member to have such lofty demeanor when just posting on a fuckin message board, but the true irony here is....that IS the very basis of most of the bitches in how the staff has and continues to fuck up. They themselves aren't conducting themselves in such a way, and when they boldly proclaim that IS a "serious" contingency to being part of the staff and completely ignore those ideals is where all of this initiated.
Funny how you put the onus of being mature and professional on the userbase itself....while completely glossing over the obvious responsibility for the staff to act that way first and foremost, when lately nothing could be further from the truth.
