That doesnt justify it. As readily as infractions are handed out for trivial nonsense something as serious as a mod fucking with a members account in that manner deserves more than nothing.

It's not like I just suddenly decided to change his name on a whim. He was making fun of me for taking my impending (or so I thought) name change so seriously, saying that I needed to learn how to take a joke. And he told me that I could make a thread about changing his name to prove that he could take a joke. I added an "e" to his name for maybe 10 minutes before changing it back, and I thought he'd just laugh about it.
At the time it didn't seem like a big deal at all. I will not be making that mistake again, yikes :/
That shows you don't have the ability to mod any sort of reputable site. If you can't differentiate between what is and isnt appropriate interaction between site staff and the member base, this isnt your thing. Playing with the mod controls because you can doesn't mean you should. Manipulation of a users info, no matter how you attempt to justify it, is never appropriate. What you did is what any typical kidiot would do when all of a sudden they discover they have some sort of ability everyone else doesnt...and that they can use those abilities as an advantage in interactions with others
As I said, I won't be doing it again. No matter the context. It was changed back before I even knew he was angry, and I felt really bad about it. Apologized and all that, and I'm here explaining myself openly because you asked.
Dunno what else to do about it, other than accept the learned lesson and move on.
