I have no fucking clue if this would work anymore, but back in the day I sold iPod wholesale lists on eBay and would sorta deceptively list them so that it appeared that I was selling iPods. I'd price em at like $70 or something where people would flock to it and buy.

When they did, I sent them a CD with a list of iPod wholesalers and some instructions on how to buy them. Some people didn't even complain, and the few that did, eBay tended to rule in my favor. I made a fuck-ton of money off of that.

Heard about that scam the other day actually, apparently it doesn't work anymore, but I may try it on other auction sites other than ebay.  How did you word it?

I started off with a description of the iPods themselves, which of course sounds legit to customers.

I then explain which type of iPod was with which distributer, which is the first hint that not all is kosher, and is the line that helps with disputes. I then dropped about three or four paragraphs of legalese repeating about nine different ways about how this is a list and not an iPod. I think I literally used the line "IF YOU ARE TRYING TO BUY AN IPOD, DO NOT PICK THIS ITEM. THIS IS NOT AN IPOD. THIS IS AN IPOD DISTRIBUTION LIST. THAT IS ALL. PLEASE DO NOT BUY IF YOU ARE A CONSUMER. THIS IS FOR RETAIL PURCHASERS ONLY."

But of course no one fucking reads that. They see the iPod picture, they see the slightly discounted price, and they order it. And they promptly receive a CD with a list of wholesalers.
