Gettin' my drugs tomorrow...
« on: October 08, 2014, 02:25:16 am »
To hopefully combat my excessive ADHD. I'm specifically getting tablets of dextroamphetamine. 5 mg to start. Does anyone have experience with this, using it legitly? Did it work for you?

Fun fact: Dextroamphetamine was used in the military for a while as a performance enhancer.

Wouldn't this be better in BLTC?

Oh yeah, they work. Did you get them by prescription/insurance? If not, 2-fma may be worth trying.

I was potentially pre-diabetic around 2 years ago and noticed that my mind felt clearest before eating regardless of how long I waited before eating, and that certain foods made it worse. The hyperglycemia caused very bad foggy brain that made it difficult to concentrate and think.

Testosterone can be a factor as well. The RDA for vitamin D doesn't mean what most people think it means, it was just decided because it was the minimum level shown to prevent bone softening/rickets, that isn't the same as the optimal level. Once again government incompetence and misleading people. Trunature 5K pills are by far the best deal, 10K per day is good for treating deficiency, which is very common. Getting sunlight is important, just bask in it with your shirt off when sun intensity is optimal for you skin tone, the body produces an enormous amount quickly and has benefits that vitamin d doesn't. It's a good idea to get your levels check, and is cheap and easy to do so without going through a doctor by ordering from Private MD Labs.

I don't think so. I'm not talking about using them recreationally.

Yeah though, I'm getting them through a prescription after a psych eval. I'm confused with what you're talking about though with that last paragraph and how that relates to dextroamphetamine.

not sure about dexamphetamine, but methaphetamine was first synthesized by nazi germany and sold/distributed as pervitin.

as for dosage, I've found 5-10mg to make me significantly more productive, but that wasn't exactly prescribed in an official therapeutic setting. I've read that most people diagnosed with ADD/ADHD usually start at around 20mg and move up to 40-50... not sure if that's a single dose or interspersed throughout the day.

That sounds pretty high, even for a one a day dose. Yeah, I don't know about that.

At least try 35mg one time.  You will feel like a fucking mad scientist.

Very fun as a recreational drug.  Plus your apartment will be really clean and organized.  But you weren't asking about that side of things...

What have you tried prior to this, to treat the ADHD?  I'm a big proponent of diet, exercise and meditation.  If dexamp works for you, that's great.  Update us for sure :)

I worked with someone in the past who had bad, bad, bad ADHD.  The absolute worst case I've seen in my entire life.  We'd be running around doing errands (grocery shopping, stopping by the bank, etc.) and he'd get distracted by everything.  Chase after dogs, decide he wants to run into stores as we walk by, freak people out by backing them into corners and asking questions forcefully.  Had some other issues too, and I won't go into much detail.  But yeah.  He was on dexamp (and other meds prior), and when they psychiatrist took him off of it for whatever reason he chilled out some.  Still the worst case I'd know, but worlds better in comparison.

Hopefully the drugs do you well.  My friend was an exception, probably.  Seemed relevant though.

I think shooting myself in the head would be a quicker way of dying. :P

It relates to ADHD. Higher, healthy testosterone levels may improve dopamine levels and help your ADD, along with other benefits, such as reducing anxiety and all the other commonly listed benefits. It's really very significant, I felt a large reduction upon beginning testosterone replacement therapy. Repeated exposure to sunlight strong enough to produce vitamin d can have a noticeable effect eventually.
