Natural disasters/civil emergency looting thread
« on: October 07, 2014, 08:40:21 am »
Recently my city had a power cut which lasted for 2 days.

whilst that would not necessarily mean city-wide looting, it certainly is a useful situation for any thief to take advantage of as, the majority of alarms would be disabled. I did however notice a much larger number of private security guards and vehicles moving around.

I have previously looted in a small lakeside town when it had flooded, and netted myself a whole lot of retail clothing and sports gear, as-well as a very bad cold.

Anyone else have any experiences of looting?

Well, once the local Highpoint's  power mysteriously went off went off so I broke the glass in a Target's display case and got an X-Box, 3DS XL and around $200 in cash, put some headphones on my head and ran out the fire escape. #LikeABossMuthaFuckas
My will, as it were.

To RisiR, you'll always be my favourite hater.

To -SpectraL, you're one of the only people here who can insult Arnox without ramming it down his throat.

To Arnox, fuck you.

Back in the days when they had the Watts riot in Los Angeles. I was just a kid but my older cousin took me with him to the store Albertson everybody was tearing the whole place down. We went in and took what was left. Everybody got the good stuff though. I was only like 7 or 8 so I was grabbing candies, chips, & sodas. Every store was broken into except for the Chinese stores because they had shotguns standing on top of their building protecting their goods. Crazy time everything was free lol

Most alarm systems would not be disabled in just two days. I used to install them.

Find things of value other than the usual stuff which will be more watched. Take the time during the mass confusion to gain advantages for later. Find all the security stuff. Find other ways into buildings. Perhaps create ways to regain entry later. If you're not walking off with a flat screen, just looking like you're walking around checking out the situation, when the heat comes down you won't be one of the ones they're targeting.
Honesty may be the best policy, but it's important to remember that apparently, by elimination, dishonesty is the second-best policy.
