Phone Verification
« on: October 06, 2014, 06:22:52 pm »
When setting up email accounts like gmail and aol before you could just use the free texting apps for verification.  Recently though they say that those numbers aren't valid or whatever and can't be used.

How can I get around this?  I know there are other email services available but I'm used to gmail and don't like change.

These are obviously being used for questionable things so using a real number is not an option.  Thanks in advance.

I have noticed this as well.  Some numbers do work though, but not all.

I have also noticed that it is difficult to set up an email account on TOR network if its one of the popular email addresses like hotmail, gmail, yahoo, hushmail, mail.com

They block the nodes on TOR network, at least all that I have used.

I cleared out my cookies and it let me register a few with out phone verification.

I also found something that says you can use k7.net but haven't tried it yet.

K7.net has worked with gmail recently, but not yahoo.

In the UK they are all still free.

Click on the .co.uk one to register rather then the .com

I always use the Pinger app to verify.. Then I close out and change my number, repeat.
