Here in the Cleveland area....Ebola is the big news of the day, as the most recent diagnosed carrier was allowed to board a commercial airline over the weekend just to help plan a wedding in Akron. Turns on that plane had 5 other routes run before anyone knew, and now everyone is up in arms. As someone that is married to someone that works in the medical community, as far as I'm concerned they need to find a fuckin island somewhere and just quarantine the whole lot of them....the good of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
Even crazier still, a guy just got arrested for JOKING about Ebola....as a disgruntled gambler made a smarmy comment while cashing out his chips to a cashier...
http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2014/10/horseshoe_casino_cleveland_cus.htmlCLEVELAND, Ohio — A disgruntled gambler is facing criminal charges after he reportedly made a comment about his wife being infected with Ebola while at Horseshoe Casino Cleveland on Wednesday.
Cleveland police arrested the 60-year-old man at his home on the city's West Side, a police spokesperson said.
The man had been gambling at the casino Wednesday and had been losing money. When he went to cash out, he made a comment indicating his wife was a nurse and had just returned from West Africa infected with Ebola.
He then left the casino but a witness was able to get his license plate number.
The gaming table the man was at was shut down as a precaution. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Ohio Casino Control and Cleveland police were notified, according to a statement released by the casino.
Police were able to quickly determine that neither the man nor his wife were infected. The man's wife is not a nurse and did not travel to Africa.
An attempt to reach Ohio Casino Control, which is investigating the incident, was unsuccessful.
The suspect is in custody and likely will face a felony charge of inducing panic, according to police.
