So I may be moving to Miami
« on: June 05, 2014, 04:13:28 pm »
I got a good job offer at a high end custom furniture place out in Miami and am really considering moving out there since Houston sorta sucks.  Anyone live out there?  If so is it everything it's hyped up to be?

Who gives a fuck what it's like. If you have a good job waiting and a place to stay I say go for it. Not going to find that in most other places. Not to mention the beach and hot bitches.

Well I thought the same thing when I moved out to Lubbock and went to Texas Tech but that ended up being a shithole

Upon arriving there I'd be around the Fort Lauderdale area first, so I think I'd be fairly safe.  As for the language barrier, living in Houston has taught me a good deal of wetback jargon

It's actually better if you keep going east until you hit the actual coast (californiamasterrace)

Fo srs tho, the only things I know about Miami are from TV so enjoy you thrilling ex-spy adventures whilst you do deeds for poor immigrants that involve explosives then have a terrible business model by not taking your entire payment because you're such a 'good guy'

Houston has oil money flowing through bigtime, I've been paid to do hotshot work to\from Houston before, and the economy is booming compared to the Austin area. I can't speak for Miami, but Houston is definitely better than most of the cities I've been to recently.

This is true, however after working for an oil n' gas supply company for a month I could tell I was not meant for the field.  Money doesn't buy happiness IMO.

the beach and hot bitches.

This is probably gonna be my deciding factor

I went to Miami once. Then I realised Disney World is in Orlando.
Please don't make fun of me.

Heard there was like 20,000 tropical storms there every year. Can anyone confirm this?

No there is not, but it does rain a lot more then you would think.  I lived from from age 2-9 and we only had one bad hurricane and even then it only knocked down part of an old fence, no extreme damage.

where do people come up with this nonsense.  there havent been any real hurricanes since about 2004.  yes, it does rain almost every day during the rainy season but generally only from 3pm to 4pm then the sun comes back out to treat everyone to 854% humidity

the real problem with miami is its a spic-infested shithole that is turning into a third world nation.  the niggers doing their nigging dont help the ambiance any, either
