over the past day or two i've developed one if the worst colds i can remember. i sleep about 15 hours a day and spend another 5 hours of the day moaning and groaning in physical pain. it took me 25 minutes to muster up the energy to open a soda can this morning, i've been coughing so much my lungs feel like they're going to give out. over the last 30 minutes or so i believe i may have developed an ear infection in both ears. every time i move i cough, every time i walk i'm limping from random muscle pain. total dysphoria. i think i may have finally natural selection'd myself with the fake pot
what can i do about this?
.
Let's put aside the obvious issue of your chronic drug abuse, and focus on some other areas...
it took me 25 minutes to muster up the energy to open a soda can this morning,
Here's one of your biggest issues right there. Soda is fucking terrible for you and will definitely cause lower energy levels,
more anxiety, and inflammation & pain. I'm sure you know the ills of high fructose corn syrup, but are you aware of the damage that sodium benzoate, the common preservative,
might have on your mitochondria? Combine that with sugar and caffeine and you've got a great recipe for adrenal poisoning or maybe thyroid problems or god knows what else.
Don't worry about quitting the drugs for now, you're going to need a vice. But try to focus on eating and drinking healthy, not only will you feel better but your drugs will work better and you'll get higher than if you were in shit health.
I highly recommend buying (or stealing, whatever you have to do) a nice big jar of RAW honey and having a water and honey only fast for 24-36 hours. This will have a massively transformative effect on your immediate energy levels as well as totally getting rid of your cold. Once you finish your honey fast, don't go right back to eating like crap! Try to eat fresh fruit & vegetables, good quality meat & fish, raw cheeses, nuts and seeds, and drink plenty of delicious, pure water (reverse osmosis and other filtration is a must), and some caffeine-free tea. If you can go without any caffeine for several months it will greatly improve the speed in which you are able to regenerate your energy levels and balance your adrenal glands with the rest of your system. You can eventually bring it back in, but one thing is for sure:
You have to stop the soda now and foreverI used to drink assloads of Dr. Pepper as a young teenager and I was diagnosed bipolar (not saying DP was the cause! just a contributing factor) and although their medicines only made things worse after a while of truly trying to figure myself out and fix my problems, I realized that my soda consumption was likely a huge culprit (as was my ignorant habit of eating ~75 mg of benadryl to help me sleep every night since I was a kid - srsly mom wtf why) and once I cut it out of my diet I
never looked back. Once you realize that it's not simply something harmless and innocuous because it's a "soft drink" and kids drink it and you realize the toxicity of it on your system, you will not feel like you are punishing yourself like an ascetic monk getting rid of all luxuries. No, you will come to the same conclusion that I did: crappy, fake, sugary refreshment is not worth your health & energy.
The true battle in your quest of scholarly and personal exploration in psychology will be when you face off against your own mind and your own habits and tendencies. Are you able to logically decide what is the best course of action for you to be of strong body & sound mind, and not be tempted by habit, laziness, and convenience? Be a rebel, sploo! Rebel against the machine that is your own ingrained tendencies. Smash the state(of apathy for your own quality of life)!
Much love and good luck.
Yeah.. take a couple of Tylenol 3, go in the shower, turn the water to almost scalding hot, stand under it for 20 minutes, sleep. Repeat as necessary.
Don't listen to him, he knows nothing (although we already knew that). First of all, Sploo, are you Canadian? I seem to recall you being American, and if so well you can't get Tylenol 3's over the counter like you can in Canada. Second of all, taking opiates are only going to mask your symptoms and not solve the root issues. Third, it would be FAR better if you were to either A) Take a nice steamy shower for about five minutes and then turn it as cold as you can and stay in until it doesn't feel cold anymore(that means your body is producing the amount of heat necessary) or B)Just go straight into an ice cold shower. There are a number of health benefits and reasons why you should do this, but without getting into all of them needless to say it's going to help with almost all of your issues.
If you take one of those showers everyday for two weeks (the best time I find is either around 6 AM, or at noon when you've already been outside and sweating balls) I promise on my left AND right nutsack that you will feel a LOT better.
