One of my economics classes is "comparative economic systems" which I thought was going to be about alternatives to cap/soc but its really just rehashing that bullshit which is boring and redundant so whenver I have the chance I talk about muh free markets and Hayek. She's literally a Yugoslav who talks about market socialism like it's not inherently corrupt and build for having your hand in the cookie jar. We have to do a presentation on the economic system of a country and I told my group we're doing a European one because I wanted to rail against the welfare state but the dumb chink and some faggot wearing a stupid shirt that I forget everything about other than I immediately judged him on it were like "OMG SWEDEN" which is basically tax central but the banking system would be interesting because the taxes kinda subsidize the low interest rates and capital restrictions hence why Swedens GNP is always above its GDP.

Sorry I have not.  I don't know the first thing about economics.  I do know exactly why I hate leftist systems, though, and the main one is that without incentives and competition, people are less productive.  I have been a union member and have seen it first hand.  Why bother trying to excel at a job or project when everyone is paid the same, and anyone who tries to work hard is chastised by the other employees.  "He is making us look bad" and shit like that.  Plus they tend to go genocidal when they are in power on a national level.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but whether you're in a union (I agree, they're lazy motherfuckers) or not, people will chastise you for working faster then is maximally profitable to them.  It's the first rule of economics, I believe.

I didn't say faster, I said harder.  And as I said, I don't know the first thing about economics.  I fail to see how working harder would lessen maximal profitability or whatever it is called, anyone care to explain it?

For instance.  I work with this guy...  I clean shit, he removes it, if he doesn't remove it, I get backed up and can't do anything. So, we'll be working hard all shift and as soon as it starts to get busy and really pick up, he wanders off somewhere and then comes back slowly, in a maximally profitable manner for him.  He's not in a hurry to get the work done and leave, because that means less money for him.  He's perfectly willing to be a complete asshole and abandon me when things start to pick up, just so he can dictate the amount of time he spends working to complete the job.

I see.  What is 'maximally profitable' for the employee is often detrimental to the employer. 

You would think that working hard would increase the employers profitability, and they would encourage this.  But they don't.
