That's pretty hilarious, that little buzzsaw sounds like it's revving to a billion RPM. While I was watching that onboard lap though, it donned on me that the engine is free wheeling off load and the driver has to feed the engine while braking. And he keeps catching the faster cars in the corners, that's a hell of a good driver.
Yeah I always liked the 2 stroke saabs. the one racing had a 3 cylinder 750cc inline.......kinda awesome he could catch cars with V8's haha.
the later ones don't have the same feel, they have a 4 stroke V-4 from the ford motor company. faster then the old ones but not as cool.
here is a 1968 saab 96 with the V-4, they kept the freewheel and the 3 on the tree shifter from the 2 stroke.
