Working With Lazy Motherfuckers

How do people do it without walking off their jobs? Last night it took everything I had not to just say fuck it and bounce.  I was working with this lazy motherfucker who didn't do a goddamn thing all night.  He just wandered off for 20 minutes at a time and no one even cared, which makes me think it's normal...  I honestly don't see how businesses even make money these days when all they do is hire lazy fuckers who don't do anything.  And, when they do get a good worker, they probably get pissed off and walk out.

hey, i know what u mean.  my last job was at mcdonalds as a (get ready) "maintenance technician".  i just swept, mopped, changed the oil/cleaned the vats, and cleaned the restrooms.

however, every so often i'd start running behind due to being held up by demented and half retarded workers constantly getting in my way, sometimes holding long and meaningless conversations while simultaneously standing with their fat asses holding up the walkway.  they would then have the audacity to glare as i politely said "excuse me" then i sometimes would hear them talking shit for 20 min - hours afterwards.

in addition, to add insult, a manager would sometimes ask these knuckle-dragging pansies to help with some of my tasks.  guess how well they performed their small little assignments, and then who got blamed by the GM the following morning? yup, my manager and me.

fuck lazy scumbaggedry...i really don't understand why management puts up with that shit.

I've yet to see one but then again I've only been on a few jobs with them and they were all with the carpentry union. It kind of defeats the purpose of unionizing labor if there's no proficiency seeing as the cost of union labor is ridiculously high

  No need to get worked up about someone being a crap employee.  If you are a good employee it will be easier for you to stand out when its time for lay-offs, raises, promotions, etc.  Or you can give freeloading a try like fuckface, apparently management doesn't care.

Tell them to do their job and keep on their ass. Make it really unpleasant for them to avoid it. If they don't, mention it to the supervisor, if you don't have authority over him. This will look a lot more favorable for you if you keep doing your work just as well as you would ordinarily.

I don't know where people get this idea that union workers/jobs are shit and lazy, because it's the exact opposite for the most part.

Of course the boss/supervisor sets the tone of the work environment, but like someone mentioned, they're paying you more and you have better job security, so people tend to function much more productively.

@Prism - When someone else is tasked with doing a job you're responsible for, you should always check their work because it will always come back on you. If they don't do it right, than make them do it again, or finish it yourself.

mr. orange, the problem was i couldn't even look over "their" work without my own manager running up saying it's already been done and not to worry about it, and to get to the next task.

yet, when the GM chews their ass out it's automatically my fault for "not doing the job properly".  if i had stayed another day i pretty much had to go talk with the GM myself as i was done with the games and bullshit.  however, i found it better just to not show up and ignore all their calls and laugh at the whole dump site scrambling around to call someone in each night until they found someone to replace me.  i would rather make my money off-the-record anyway, even though it is more 'volatile' (don't know what i'll make from one day to the next so to speak).

so while the scumbag headcases chased their tails for hours on end each night, i was on the coast blowing big dope and drankin' out the bottle on a self-made vacation.

money started to run out off my credit/debit cards and i only brought a little cash, so i had to come back to my little hell-hole in cali and 'reset'.

i am very non-confrontational and hate drama and non-sense.  i know it's best for me to simply remove myself from a situation i can predict will end up with me seeing red for real and cops being called and all that shit because people can't mind their own or handle their own after testing someone like a final exam.  lol

We've had about 6 of these type at my work in my two years of working there.
