i got a job at dhl

i know most or some of you ass holes would tell me to steal shit and rip the system.  but I'm actually happy i found a better job.  making 11.05 plus .50 per hour for working third shift.

the only gripe i have is fucking orientation.  its for fucking retarded people.  i feel like doing actual work, especially since i got to drive an hour to get there.

on the plus side i have a job coach who is with me to help make sure i get everything.  just more help for me huh. his name is rick and he looks like a middle aged fitness instructor.  and he is very personable. and easy to work with.

i just hate dragging him down there in the middle of the night.

It's easy to bs interviews. I'm sure it's difficult for higher paying jobs. I had an interview about a week ago for Valet job 14/hr including tips. They haven not called me back yet, should I send them an email? They never game me a phone number.

Man this post makes me realize just how spoiled we are here in houston.  The starting wage at this company is 16.00 an hr and all the overtime you want.  Even the most basic idiot mexicans who don't speak a word of english are making bank sitting on their asses pressing a couple of buttons.  You can easily be making 100k+ a year under your own company after a couple of years in the industry.  Oil n' Gas FTW.

thanks for replys.  ill try to answer all q's.

the one i work at is in enlarger Kentucky.  just south of Cincinnati.  but i live in middletown so the drive is 1 hour each way.  i do hope that after probation period i could move to a closer facility if there is one.  i think there is one in dayton but not sure.

i do have a criminal background.  got arrested twice for theft.  but i still passed the background check.  the interview i had lasted all of 5 minutes and i didn't even know it was one till after.  it was quick and simple.  lift a 50 lbs box, put it on ground, lift back up and place onto table.  not too difficult but i admit it is heavy.

i wish i could get $16 hour.  thats about what my younger bro makes as a machinist.

well its better than my previous job.  12 hours a week at 8.50 hour!  and i don't pay for Anything.  rent, electric, etc...  none of that shit i have to pay for.  so i can save every penny.

Thanks for the link. I found an ad for $18.25/hr +OT, two weeks on, one week off. The only problem is that I would have to move over to Willinston, North Dakota but you get free housing. It's a ways from where I live in Minnesota and North Dakota just sounds awfully boring. I'm tempted to apply for the money. I haven't been able to get a job over here that pays over $8.25.
