No, there's no IRC yet since I don't know how to put an IRC client into the site or make a tab for it. Willing to take suggestions. And as to server vulnerabilities, if you'd like to PM me them, that would be great. Up to you though. I'd rather you didn't take the site down though.

That's about it then. You really want to know what to do? Post! Post topics for anything you want to talk about. We need to fill the board here. I've already made some threads in IFIOTW and T&T. Check those out too.

As far as IRC goes, I have a friend who owns a hosting company. I'll talk to him and see if he'll let me set something up. We'll see if we can't get the ball rolling on that. Need moar internet relay chat.

I got a chat system in place though if you'd like to use that. The only disadvantage I can see with it over IRC is that you can't directly see who's online. Otherwise, it's pretty nice. Another thing is, the Shoutbox is moderated by our own staff so you can always expect fair treatment. Yet another thing is that it's right on the front of the Home page which means much more visibility. And finally, (this is a double-edged sword actually) the Shoutbox doesn't rely on another party to host it, so as long as the sites up, the Shoutbox will be up.

Do you not have the chat activated? I'm not seeing it on my end. Ultimately, it's up to you. I find IRC easier to use and manage because I can use my own automated and preconfigured security protocols whereas I have to use someone else's with the preinstalled chats. I'd much rather be responsible for my own security rather than someone else but like I said, ultimately, it comes down to what you want to use. You're the site admin. I suppose I could make this work to my advantage either way.

Well, that doesn't sound very nice. Why do you want to do that?

I set the Shoutbox to auto-hide so it wouldn't be up in everyone's face all the time. It's right there on top of the board index, all labeled and everything. Just expand the bar.

Hmmm. I'm not seeing it. I tried in three browsers. Chromium, Chrome, Firefox. Do you have it set up for regular members to view and use it? You may just have it set up for a particular user group. Or maybe it's only viewable to those members with a specific post count?
