A good method I've heard is to crush them up into a powder and then mix them in with peanut butter.  Take the peanut butter/shroom mix and some jelly and make you a trippy PB&J!  Yum

Hippie friends say not to grind them up because they're "special tools" unlike LSD which is considered more to be playtime.

But I mean from what I understand raw mushrooms don't digest well, I personally hate portabellos or shiitake.

But everyone says just eat them raw. Weirdos.

So far I think the best idea would be grinding 2-3G into a shot of orange juice. But, I've never done this drug.

^This?  This is fucking retarded.  If they are dried, and you don't want to eat them, because, well, they taste like fucking shit, you want to grind them up.  It increases the surface area accessible for extraction, as well as making the active ingredient digest more efficiently, possibly hastening the onset and intensifying the experience.

Avoid ones within 10 yards of roadways, as psilocybe species are known to take up toxins from the soil into the carpophores (fruiting bodies), and areas near roads may have different soil composition.

I wouldn't eat any sort of mushroom that I haven't spore printed.  At least match up the color of the print, if you want to be 100% sure you need a microscope to check the shape of the spore.

To spore print a mushroom you will need: 

A pair of cuticle scissors

A few small glass drinking vessels or shot glasses

A piece of thick paper like white construction paper, cut into a square a bit larger than the cap of the mushroom one wishes to print

Hydrogen peroxide

A sewing needle

A flat, nonporous surface and a glass vessel to cover the surface, such as an upside down cup on a plate.  Make sure it is large enough to fit a mushroom cap and the piece of paper inside with plenty of room.

You soak all the metal implements in peroxide in the shot glasses for a few minutes.  Get everything together, then stick a pin into the cap of the mushroom you want to print.  Place the paper onto the nonporous surface.  Snip off the cap as close to the stem as you can while holding the pin, and in a smooth motion place the cap onto the paper, and cover the whole thing with the cover.  In two days, take the cover off and use the pin to lift the cap from the paper. 

This probably isn't suitable for reproductive purposes, but the porous paper holds the spores so that you can use them to identify the species.  Taking into account the physical description of the mushroom, and the color of the spores, one can be fairly confident in identifying what one has picked.

This is important to know. I recommend grinding them up finely and soaking in lemon juice for 20 minutes prior to ingestion.
