So registration's going to open back up very soon. The only question is how shall it be this time?

Open Registration:

Same as it was before. Standard system of registering an account and getting a verification email sent. Done.

Invite System:

Registration requires an unused registration code. Anyone with an account here may generate codes to give out to people they trust so they can register an account here.

I vote for open in the long-term, but for a short period of time perhaps just have registration contingent on admin approval. Also, we shouldn't allow black people to register.

To counter the CP and other shit from the losers just limit any account with less than 100 posts from using img and other features which can be abused. If they are here for the wrong reasons their 1st 100 posts will give clues.

I vote for open registration.  IMO, closing or limiting registration is going against the very ideas of freedom totse was founded on.  Even if we make it invite only, the CP spammers who want to get in will manipulate and trick other users into getting codes. 

This debate over the registration system feels very similar to the new war on gun ownership rights in the US.  Everyone's afraid of a few crazies so they're trying to change the whole system because of it.

I kinda feel that if we're to survive we'll need to keep registration open.  The "approval-only" registration is part of what was killing zoklet.  Took forever to get an account approved, and by then people had moved on.

This is a great idea on paper, but when it comes down to putting in action it sorta fails.  Everyone whos a new user will be complaining to lower the post requirement and that its unfair, while CP spammers will just post as fast as they can up to 100 posts then continue to spam CP.
