Ghetto Smelly Control by spyke

A major impediment to swims dream has been the solvent evap part of his chosen fake extraction tech. It involves evaporating a smelly mix of solvents. Doing this out in the open/outside not possible atm.

Swim was thinking how great it would be to have a stealth fume hood.

Then it dawned on swim.

Materials:

1 plastic storage bin with lid

1 4"inline duct fan

1 length of dryer vent hose for the fan

1 piece of weather strip/electrical tape/thread tape to make seal

1)cut hole in lid of bin

2)wrap fan in electrical tape or weather strip

3)insert fan in hole

4)secure dryer vent duct hose to fan

5)place evap dish/gravity filtration device containing smelly shit into bin

6)secure lid to bin

7)lead hose outside while fan is on

If using this containment device for evap seems the fan would greatly speed up the process.

Any input and safety concerns would be appreciated.

This is probably not an original idea and its not being presented as such...just a possible solution for swim

It Might be a little more expensive than a plastic storage bin, but would a fish tank work for this too?  One with a flap or section already cut out of the top where you could attach the actual vent system?  Not to mention the fact that glass is transparent and most storage totes are translucent at best.  Just my spider's .02
"No I don't have a fire extinguisher, why would I need one?"
