It's my contention that this music video represents the height of negro music in the 21st century based on the proliferate use of slang, musical distortion techniques including chopping and screwing as well as utilizing what is considered a "sick beat" in order to facilitate and propagate the deep expression of lyrics that speak to the human condition especially with respect to the use of "purple drank" in order to escape reality and the need to "brush with kris" to maintain a sense of social worth and style in the face of brutal living conditions and the struggle to attain and maintain wealth by "chasin paper" and ignoring "haters" who would interfere and deny their attempt to raise themselves out of poverty.
