Fast Food chain idea
« on: September 06, 2014, 01:47:03 am »
I've been thinking about starting a fast-food chain where people basically buy a baked potato and choose what kind of topping they want on it.  Would anyone be interested in going/eating there?  if not why?  I'm going to write a business plan based on your ideas!

thanks!

How many things can you put on a baked potato?

How much would you sell them for? You'd need more foods than just a baked potato. Chicken, beef, pork dishes. Potatoes aren't glamorous. People don't want to eat them "for health reasons".

Maybe if you had a place that did steak and a baked potato for a reasonable price with some healthy options that'd be cool. You could also use sweet potatoes or other root vegetables.

I like your suggestion of different kinds of potatoes and/or other root vegetables.
I wasn't thinking of playing the "health card", just something cheap, fast that fills you up and be able to build a small stand everywhere.

Wow, the most I put on mine is a little butter. Ketchup? That sounds interesting...

Bacon, cheddar, sour cream, diced tomato, and green onion or chives is a traditional way of serving a baked potato in the US. Ketchup is cheap and it goes well with a lot of things.

Vinegar and salt go well on baked potatoes.

You could offer different kinds of potatoes.  Red, yellow, blue/purple... sweet potatoes.

If it's gonna be unhealthy it better be cheap for people to buy, has anyone tried adding chili?

It's not unhealthy nor is it healthy, it's a fucking baked potato!

It has to be one or the other foo. If the food stand is successful would you consider a food truck? Head to college campuses when it's busy or in the party areas as a drunk snack.
