Why is skygear banned?
« on: September 05, 2014, 11:48:20 pm »
He's saying he's banned for CP & spam when he had absolutely nothing to do with it - did you guys ban him by mistake instead of an account pretending to be him? He's a legit guy - no not a fed - and has contributed great stuff over the years. you want him around.

He ran afoul of the broken way we get IP's from our clients at the moment. It's fixed now. He should be able to get back in.

Where did skygear come from, anyway?  One day he was just a mod on zoklet and I'd never seen a single post from the guy before that.  Might be why people thought he was a fed.

people don't appreciate being called rats when they've done nothing but help the community

Who is and where did skygear come from-  'skygear' has been around since the 90's. In the late 80's was responsible for a NASA hack that resulted in an online persona or handle change. Through the years, i have been apart of many communities that are no longer in existence. SOme that people would recognize, others that people would have no clue about or that even existed. &t, thehive, just to name a couple.

I do my research, have many resources, that is - except money. In my research, I treat it similar to the scientific method. I do field research and put things into practice. Then pass the results onto the masses.

In my research, and online experience, I have never steered anyone wrong. I respond with facts, not fiction. From personal experiences and those of my peers. If I respond to a thread, it is out of wanting to add content or provoke the conversation further on something I am interested in. I will not normally respond with a frivilous remark.

Most of the community has been helped by me in one way or another. I help not only in the plain view of the open boards but behind the scenes too. Letting some of you know when you post insecure data that could lead to your PI, or mediating and preventing a Ban, to simple things like linking some of you to the factual info to keep yourselves safe and free to openly roam the streets a free man.

Although not in an official capacity, I am here to help in whatever capacity I can. If there is anything anyone needs that I can assist in, please get in touch. I am a chameleon in the crowd, able to learn and adapt as needed, or shine as a leader when the time calls. I get things done.

On zoklet, a few people recognized who I was and observed as I started to transform the threads I participated in into a wealth of knowledge. Able to balance the bs with the good while maintaining the peace among the hostility some of you people exude. Then, like so many other communities I am a part of, asked me to assist in some form or another. Being part of many communities, I do not 'hide' but do protect the information I release. At the same time, help everyone else protect themselves.

On various sites, I have been Super Admin, Admin, Tech Admin, and Moderator. Some I have stepped down from so not to damage the community with my absence, or when I felt there was nothing further for me to add and contribute to. I enjoy being able to add to a community, bring up the quality of it, then walk away quietly. Too many times I am left with nothing to show for my work. Not that it is a negative, but that I have not been keeping a backup of the sites. Most of them are not Abruptly taken offline like the past 2-3 communities have been. I am better prepared NOW, but in hindsight, should have been much earlier.

FED? yeah, no. in whatever offshoot form that you might imply, informant, etc. I would hope that you people would have more faith in me and all the help and good that I have provided the various communities over the years. If I ever go dark, i would burn an account versus let it get compromised. In the past, when I have been questioned or interviewed over various things, never have I cooperated. I maintain silence and let them hit a brick wall at every turn. I am not an innocent, and by no means a FED or any other acronym.

CP? 0- no. I do have offspring, would never wish anything like that on them or anyone else. Frankly, I like a nice set of boobs. Flat chests and under developed bodies don't do anything for me. Being banned for CP really pissed me off, in whatever error it was. I worked diligently to remove that from all the communities I have been apart of and would hope that it stayed off the ones I am on. Being banned for it, was a slap in the face and why I contacted the people I did to help resolve it.

You will not find me attacking anything or anyone in reference to ddos attacks. Not my style.

If there is anything I have not covered or people feel is too vauge on, ask.
