Only real way to get to any high ranking officials is before it hits the fan would be with some very well placed HEs.

It's not just about key targets, sometimes if at all. If you have the support of a large majority of people in the country, that's going to make things very difficult for the government, to say the least. In fact, it's most likely going to be the deciding factor. And you guys are also forgetting that many people in the armed forces have their own families too. People they care about. Their own opinions. Some may very well break off and join the resistance as well.

In fact, one wonders if we could possibly forgo a whole lot of unnecessary bloodshed if we as a people reached out to the ones in the armed forces and asked for their support, asking them if they really wish to give their lives to defend a bunch of corrupt politicians and a broken government.

Time is always against you in some way or another.

Keep in mind people are scared and lazy for the most part... If they're lives get infinitely harder and the comforts they've become accustomed to are no longer there usually it pushes one to make a decision and move.

Desperation and strife, Sprinkle that shit on everything.

While most people seem to get huffed up about what they read/see in the news.. the fact of the matter is, at the heart of it all.. most people simply don't care. They complain about their jobs, their pay, and the politics of this country or the next. But as long as they have food on their table, their families, friends, and a lifestyle they can effectively maintain.. they dont care very much. Sure, the popular thing to do is complain.. and its possibly due to the fact they unsatisfied people are constantly venting their frustrations that nothing of real importance ever happens in regard to a "revolution". It's easy to say things are bad and want to do something.. but when you have to get off your ass and actually do it.. well, that 8-4 decently paying job doesnt look so bad, why cause yourself any unnecessary trouble. It'll only be when there is a sufficient action made that makes a sudden enough impact on our lives, that simply going on as if it didn't happen is no longer an option. There is usually a lot of media or hear-say attention directed towards the rumor "The Gov'ment gonna come take yer Guns!".. Well, no one has knocked on my door yet, and until they do.. I probably will take these statements with a grain of salt for the sake of the fear mongering paranoid people saying it.. But.. And this is a big But, if their ever were officials of a sort to show up and try and personally disarm me and fellow americans.. this country would erupt into a warzone. I will admit that "We the people" are undoubtedly under control, to an extent.. At the same time, I feel the American people and nation in general is a sleeping giant.. If provoked wrongfully by our own government or an outside nation, I really do feel that the response it would solicit would be irrevocably violent, and that's putting it lightly. Even if our government or armed forces failed us (assuming a foreign invasion), I think the American people are a inwardly savage people.. you bring that to the surface and your guaranteed all kinds of trouble.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep.
