Let's just say I purchased a gun the legit way and I decide to shoot up the gang I felt was responsible for shooting me...Can the police trace it back to me just because of the bullet on the victims body? Or would they have to find the same bullet in my possession? How does that work exactly? If you really were going to go through with this, and you posted about it online, your future residence will be a penitentiary. 

Also, they trace the barrel markings on the bullet, as well as try to match up firing pin markings on a shell casing if they can find one.

If you're making posts on an internet forum asking how to do something like this it should be fairly obvious its way over your head and you should probably stick to something safer. Like crochet

You can be sure the feds that monitor this site have your general location and they're going to cross reference you and any similarly seeming murders that you posted about. They wont even need to do any forensics work
