Don't get me started on the fucking "Truth" ads on facebook. Seems like every time I see them, I'm smoking.

It's a load of alarmist bullshit but one thing I will say is the quality of "tobacco" most people are getting in their cigarettes is shit. You'd be surprised by how many just have wood pulp inside them, not tar paper (a significant ingredient of most cigs which increase your cravings). Sure you'll get your "rush" but it will be short lasting, you'' want more and you won't be getting as good of deal as you would if you were to grow your own tobacco and smoke it or instead have a cigar.

This I believe 100 percent. After all, you're not going to get a top quality beef burger from a huge corporation like McDonald's. You're not going to get a high quality meal from a major corporation like Stouffer's. You're not going to get a high quality beer from a corporation as massive as Anheuser-Busch. So, why would you get quality tobacco from any of the juggernaut tobacco companies?

EDIT: Keep in mind, I have nothing against large corporations, I just understand that once the output of your product reaches limits like those I listed above, maintaining quality control becomes all the more difficult.

These commercials might prevent somebody to start smoking but it certainly isn't helping anybody quit, in fact I think it stresses out smokers even more thereby most people want to light up after seeing one. Not to mention most of the time these commercials are followed up by Baskin-Robbins ads which doesn't make a lick of sense to me.

I don't understand smoking. Is it something you pick up when you're young trying to be cool and rebellious and then you get hooked on them or what? They've never done anything for me.

I was at one point addicted to Copenhagen though. But it actually had noticeable effects...

You start smoking to look cool or rebellious, or because you just want to try it.
You smoke more because you enjoy the buzz it gives you, that lightheaded feeling and the calm afterwards.
You get addicted and keep smoking because you still enjoy the stress relief, even though it doesn't come as often
Then when you dont like smoking anymore, but it's fuck-all hard. My biggest issue quitting is because I liked having something to do with my hands

That's exactly why I'm afraid of the Weed craze and Monsanto buying Urugay so they can genetically encode certain genotypes.

If you are a grower, save your beans, save your genetics. They are out to get us.
who's the judge of if its funny and or clever? the mods. period.
